How come the Banks get cuddles while we get the stick?

Luxon has officially disappeared up his own arsehole

Look at what this arsehole Government have done to the disabled and beneficiaries.

They have heaped cruel, unfair sanctions within a framework that is designed to trip people up and disqualify them, not find them jobs!

These are our poorest, most vulnerable fellow citizens being penalised and punished so as to make the process of receiving welfare so difficult, stressful and painful that people just stop reaching out for help altogether.

That’s not a social policy, that’s a right wing culture war revenge fantasy masquerading as social policy.

Even if you like watching people weaker than you get hurt by this malicious Government, (which if you do, suggests you should probably go seek some talk therapy for that),  even if their prejudice is your cup of tea,  compare how this Government hates vulnerable people, yet loves the Banks.

To date, this Government (who took millions in donations from the Real Estate Pimps) have handed landlords a $3b tax loop hole WHILE assassinating the Reserve Bank Governor to ensure a reduction of capital requirements for Banks WHILE at the exact same time changing Overseas Investor rules on speculating in the residential property market by selling our citizenship.

Am I missing anything?

Oh I am.

Add to those loving strokes to the Banking Industry, this Government also allowed retrospective legislation to let ASB and ANZ off the hook for paying YOU their customers money they fraudulently charged from you.

So billion dollar tax cuts, dangerously rejigging the capital requirements of the Late Stage Capitalism Banks just as the Prime Minister attempts to re-inflate a speculative property bubble?

Yet if you are disabled or a beneficiary or in emergency housing and you miss one phone call from MSD, you can have your welfare cut.

Who the fuck is this Government working for – us the citizens or the Banks?

How come the Banks get cuddles while we all get the stick?

Just because you like the Government giving the bennies and disabled and homeless and māori the bash, doesn’t justify why we are kissing the arse of the Banks.

Get off your knees Kiwi.

  1. Yes, and the huge increase in prison numbers will hurt us cause eventually most of these people have to be released and reintegrate back into their communities. This COC government is divisive and, in my view is not ruling in the best interest of most New Zealanders and I believe this is the worst government NZ has ever had.

Today on RadioNZ there was a discussion about who had been the worst/best finance ministers? Of course it was agreed top of the worst list – Muldoon. I guess that would be because if Muldoon couldn’t find a job for a worker he would create one which is anathema to today’s neo-liberalists.

He also developed oil/gas energy, farm forests, venison export industries. What industrial development can National take credit for in recent history. This lot tell us loudly they are getting AWS data farms except the projected energy demand for data farms (plus adjustment to known gas reserves) has spiked the energy price for consumers and industry. In fact, AWS is not going ahead with their data farms. https://newsroom.co.nz/2025/09/02/amazon-aborts-construction-of-west-auckland-data-centre/

Would Muldoon have allowed a rigged electricity market to close forest mills and other industrial plants?
