The faction inside Labour who want to cut a deal with NZF because they fear the Māori Party are too radical would hopelessly compromise the Left in a way that we could never recover from if Labour are reliant on NZF.

NZF are no longer a rational political player, they are hopelessly compromised via donors interests to focus on the common good and their agents are fucking radioactive.

Take Toxic NZF anti-Trans Hate Troll Rys Williams…

Businessman behind toxic online Benjamin Doyle campaign

The anonymous online account that helped spark a political firestorm over Green MP Benjamin Doyle’s past Instagram posts is run by a businessman who is a former NZ First member, The Post can reveal.

…take Toxic NZF ant-vaccine staffer Jaap Knegtmans…

Globalists, ‘clot shots’ and the ‘evil witch’: How a conspiracy poster landed a job at the heart of government

A NZ First staffer who cheered on the Parliament occupation is still posting conspiracy theories and far-right content while working in the office of Winston Peters. Andrea Vance investigates.

…Williams and Knegtmans are feral human being prepared to stoop to any tactic to advance their demented agendas, how could any Labour Party MP seriously consider a deal with NZF when lunatics as toxic as these two are on NZF side?

It is time for the Labour Factions to acknowledge there can be no deal with what NZF has turned into, a conspiracy swamp driven by the worst and most hateful elements of social media.

Those inside this Labour faction risk destroying everything Labour has ever stood for if they attempt to cut a deal with NZF after the election to sideline the Greens and the Māori Party.

Look, are the Māori Party insufferable and play up constantly to the political theatre without actually doing any of the mahi?

Sure, but  you can’t pretend that they are somehow worse than the genuine hate that NZF are trafficking in.

There can be no deal between Labour and NZF.

  1. The few people I know who are (unfortunately) NZ First supporters are also toxic online antivax, anti Maori, Labour haters.
So while I think it unlikely Peter’s would contemplate a union with Labour he has form for doing what works for him and no one else including his supporters.
Labour needs The Greens and TPM to dial back their more alienating rhetoric and focus more on what works for their voter base AND all New Zealanders then NZF wouldn’t need to be in the equation.

  2. The Labour Party should front up now and say there’s no way they will work with Winnie and his greedy pet poaka.
When it becomes apparent the far right are in danger of losing the election voters will abandon the fraudulent NZ First and once it drops below 5% it’s game over for them.
Kill the three headed Cerberus with one stone.

  3. I believe Labour will need to push more for the party vote if NZers don’t want too many tradeoffs. We only have to look at how two minor parties have far too much power and this is primarily due to National having such a weak leader. When the books are opened next year, they will be in a mess and we will be required to spend money, this means we will either have to borrow or increase taxes. As long as the money is invested in the right areas to improve our economy. Our debt level will still be manageable especially if we compare ourselves to other like-minded countries. There is a lot of scaremongering going on, yet we can afford 3$ billion for weapons. Public systems in health and education are being run down deliberately so as to privatise, therefore removing our government of any responsibility. I also think Labour would be stupid to strike a deal with the devils in the swamp. (NZF)

    • It’s not that Luxon and co aren’t weak, wrong word, they are just focussed on themselves and their interests and will ignore and rort us to do so. It is not new and unknown, it is just that we peeps have never learned that democracy is a mighty front-end loader and needs training and wisdom to drive. Yet we are allowed to have a go at the beast democracy, without trying to tame it, and we have got into trouble. In a nutshell, fellow nuts, that is why we are in this spot and I don’t care if you claim to be a natural driver, or a politics whisperer, you need to learn more and better, and we all need to pass some test to be included in the voting polity.

At present we act like children at Christmas expecting our election and satisfactory lives, to be put under the tree by this kindly, well-intentioned beneficent democratic system. But you haven’t been good children it says, Christmas is cancelled for you. We are suckers not understanding that possibility, while watching human relationships devalued in wars all over the world, and in private spats that are filled with despair, anger and all the other sorts of pus we produce. We can, must do better or else. Or else what? Well Virginia it is too horrid to contemplate.

I read this quote from Vincent O’Sullivan, esteemed NZAO writer. It was part of a review of Chevalier & Gawayn written by Phillip Mann RIP. It sums up how we could be as NZAO citizens:
….Chevalier & Gawayn gives us, yet again, what we read his novels for –
IMAGINATIVE REACH, MORAL INTEGRITY, LINGUISTIC BRIO.

(brio – ‘Quality of being active or spirited, or alive and vigorous. ‘ And please make yourself do more reading of books – long ideas described, not short abrupt exchanges of slang and cant, and also keep talking to others who you meet about everyday things, a reasonably positive manner. Joins together, builds community and we need it so.)

  4. Without NZF, there is no real path for Labour to get the numbers they need to form a new Government at this time.

    • fuck NZF nitrium they are full of shit and appeasing their donors, tobacco companies creaming it. And I see someone is funding electronic billboards asking for us Wellingtonians to sign a petition on the covid inquiry, so this shows someone, or group and their dirty money is busy discrediting Labours covid response.

  5. Who is in that Labour Party faction you refer to?

There is not much, if any, credibility or talent in the Labour Party so I wonder how they can actually muster enough people for anything that could be called `a faction’.

    • pdm nothing can be worse than the CoC who are breaking records at the wrong end, and business owners have come out and said, ‘this is the worse it has ever been’.

      • Yep absolutely whilst bagging Labour you forget the CoC is fucking worse in regards talent, look at Nicola no boats as an eg.

  6. There’s an Arabic proverb about not naming the well from which you will not drink.

And one might wonder what core Labour values are these days, because a fair shake for working people doesn’t seem to be their raison d’etre anymore.

Winston has nothing to offer, but if the choice were him or the brain dead economic stupidity of Willis, that would be just another of the invidious compromises NZ voters must constantly make to minimize the irresponsible follies that characterize our governments.

We really need an ostraka option – these riddled old political roues are no good to man nor beast.

    • This is my regular feeling SM. So well put!
…another of the invidious compromises NZ voters must constantly make to minimize the irresponsible follies that characterize our governments. …
This brings me in mind of Flanders and Swann who sang ditties about things like the ‘unfriendly powers’ which seem to have NZAO under thrall.

They could point their fingers at the other parts of the UK, but we have something more insidious. A clan, worldwide cabal of wealth-saturated people who could cope with such shocks as receiving their grandsons ear to motivate the paying of a ransom, and yet rationalise not being moved to respond.

So we could have a short laugh at excerpt from ‘Patriotic Prejudice’. https://genius.com/Flanders-and-swann-a-song-of-patriotic-prejudice-lyrics
and then shut down to serious thought again:
The rottenest bits of these islands of ours
We’ve left in the hands of three unfriendly powers
Examine the Irishman, Welshman or Scot
      You’ll find he’s a stinker, as likely as not…

      • I usually recommend feeding them to tigers – good for endangered species & New Zealand.

Willis et al’s ‘plan so cunning you could stick a tail on it & call it a weasel’ turns out to be to limit government spending to 30% of GDP – meanwhile collecting less than 30% of GDP in tax – genius! Which involves taxpayer funded begging trips to the UK to borrow to make up the shortfall.

These clowns are so (deleted expletive) stupid they constitute a danger to NZ.
And we’re hip deep in a recession caused by their canceling infrastructure spending – in a country with a forty-year deficit of infrastructure.

Infrastructure spending is more cost effective the less developed the country. National want to take us back to the Paleolithic, the last era they could even remotely understand.

  7. Labour wants a Labour-Green coalition backed by TPM.

This is the government NZF (and NACT) want to block.

The role of TPM is to enable this government.

This then makes a future Labour-Green-TPM government more likely.

That the right has been focused on the threat of TPM being part of a coalition government should be an opportunity to get a Labour-Green government that has TPM support on confidence and supply etc.

  8. Luxon spent 2 years running around the world running the NZ economy and business leaders down in an attempt to discredit the last government .Now he has got what he wanted but it was not the last government that tanked the economy it was he himself .If NZ was a corporation the receivers would be moving in right now .Willis is spending and borrowing at record levels and no major pandemic or earth quake in sight and has spent bugger all on helping out after the recent floods .
Chippie needs to sit down with the other two parties and get a consensus before the next election as they both have great policy to offer .TPM had by far the best tax policy before the last election but because it was brown policy it was pushed aside .I dont see TPM losing more than one seat in the next election so they will have a voice in the next parliament but need to focus on being constructive and push the positive gains Maori have made in the last 30 years and high lite the achievements made Maori in the economy ,sport and the wider world not on the 10% of failure that all races have in NZ .
