Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.
The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog, 3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.
All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.
EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

The CoC, Paul Thompson and his BFF determined to fuck over RNZ. They seem to think RNZ should be commercial radio without the ads

As usual, protect the swathe of managerialists at the expense of the content producers
Don’t know about this numbers game with RNZ. It must be being forced on them by government as an indication of worth and relevance. But government does not apply such strictures to itself. What’s right for the Goose is okay for the Gander or whatever. Gummint floats along on an ‘alcoholic’ haze it seems, and the country is being used as a health farm for drying-out psychopaths and loose screws.
By the way, Earth to @Greywarbler – are you reading, over.
Just hoping all is OK Ji
Roger, reading you OwT. Oh damn must not say rodger or roger, will start saying Tim to show message received. Don’t be too complex, I am a bit simple.
Just hadn’t seen you on either TDB or TS in a while.
As an aside, TS amuses me. It’s a valuable resource that’s let down by its moderators – one of whom is particularly petty in her control freakery.
Micky Savage and Lprent I can understand why they outsource moderation. And there are some good commenters (such as Tiger Mountain and TC). I’d even consider donating because Lprent likes to look at ways of genuine improvement ( both in his programming and social skills – fishunsy and fektivniss if you like ) whereas most of the moderators are seriously ego-driven ).
Glad its there – not so much some of the wankers that frequent the site.
I agree about TS so don’t go there much. There is a need to adequately moderate but not from a POV that becomes a tourniquet. As for the TDB there is so much going on all the time in the world I am checking on others comments or putting mine most days. You are mostly into RNZ and media generally right? I listen mostly to the Concert program these days. Music is a discipline and a joy and I admire the proponents of it. We should all spend more time making music, playing some instrument.
Yes RNZ Nat and Concert, some student radio and radio.garden to access U.S. public radio (NPR and Monterey Jazz) and African music stations). Spent 3 months this time last year in the Bay Area and around Monterey.
Big Data predictive policing systems of authoritarian governments are coming here and need to be scrutinized closely. Beware the slippery slope of power abuse.

Which is best option – organised crime or disorganised crime? What do the police think? They seem to like their options open so they can make snap judgments.
Perhaps irrelevant quote from book referring to 1933 in Nazi Germany; what could happen if you were deemed undesirable, in this case Jews: Police just following orders can be prevailed on to drop societal pretensions to respect for all people.
Police held placards in front of Jewish shops,,,with the words ‘Don’t buy from Jews’; others put up signs to identify places where Jews are to be denied entry. SA men smash Jewish shop windows, owners are terrorised into relinquishing their businesses, and HOMES ARE VISITED BY GESTAPO WHO TAKE FAMILY MEMBERS AWAY. The year is 1933 and this is life in the Fuhrer’s Germany.
In 1938 there is the Munich Agreement and land that had for 1,000 years an agreed relationship with other countries is agreed to be transferred to the German Reich by England and France. Ir is obvious now that there had to be a war against this vicious regime. How do we deal with our present circumstances? And why are we not wiser after all that has happened and all the Jewish *psychologists and thoughtful academics and political strategists that have had time to think and inform?
Perhaps they have been ignored by the money-men concentrating on personal advantage, growth and wealth, similar to how we have ignored the climate warnings (for the same reasons) also those from the Club of Rome!?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Club_of_Rome
The Club of Rome was founded in 1968 at Accademia dei Lincei in Rome, Italy.

The Jewish Roots of Psychotherapy – Psychology Today
Dec 28, 2024 The roots of modern psychotherapy have origins in Jewish thought, history, and intellectual traditions. Even though I am not religious, being Jewish has always been central to my identity.
