   • There were definitely some highly qualified, experienced & motivated “lazy sods” on National Radio today, trying very hard to find jobs to support their families after being made redundant. It’s currently a very hard market and there is a good chance AI will screen your application out, with no human ever even seeing it. Australia beckons as hope & qualified Kiwis depart.

   • Yes….unemployment was around 3-3.5% under Labour, construction was booming, much needed well thought through State houses were being built en masse, back to surplus was to be around mid-2027 (as verified by treasury), the bargain price ferries negotiated by Labour were due for delivery late this year/early next year, and the Picton// Wellington ferry terminal refurbishments were well under way…..

     …and then came amateur hour featuring the The coalition of the Clueless… Luxon, Willis, Seymour, Peters…has there ever been a worse lineup ?….You’d have to think hard to find one.

     Luxon, putting Willis in charge of the finances, demonstrates that Luxon doesn’t have a clue….His much self vaunted CEO nous was nowhere to be seen. ..he’s a farce …Willis’ out of depth, terrible, naive performance at the Queenstown finance debate during the build up to the election should have set the alarm bells for Luxon…but no…on he and she blindly blundered …now this mess.

     Clearly she has a serious, i know best, delusional, hubristic personality disorder based on …zero experience and a strictly average intellect.

   • The country overspent after covid causing an unrealistic economy and a country vulnerable to further financial shock .While unemployment is sad for those concerned it has been a necessary tool to correct inflation and keep the country from debt.
     There are plenty of people happy with the way the country is run as proved by polls and full planes of holiday makers .The government have 6billion of work about to start so the good times are coming

If she bought her own groceries, she might see how prices have increased, and she might be able to bring in some useful policies which will no longer indicate to us that she is a bought and paid for politician whose only concern is her wealthy friends and donors.

What about the 400k that are under employed .Part time work is not a job is it .Try going to the bank to get a loan when you can only work 20 hours at your normal job .Spoke to a saw mill worker who has had his hours cut by 2 hours per day .Before the election they could not get enough logs to mill now they can get as many logs as they like but cant sell the timber now .He was a labour hater before the election but has done a right wing back flip and wants Willis gone before lunch .I asked about Luxon he said he was not a problem because he was never in the country and when he was he was hiding under his desk .

8. Sadly unemployment figures hide the full impact of Government’s harmful policies. For example, the Government culls 10,000 jobs. 1,000 find new work, 5,000 go to Australia, and 4,000 are still looking.Unemployment figures will only count the 4,000.
   The importance of the uncounted 5,000 is increased when we hear that construction companies will not have enough workers for the upcoming resurgence, because they went overseas!

Talk about inflation .Yesterday I went to buy ink for my printer .Last time I bought the triple color it was $60 yesterday it was $126 .Then I looked at a new printer for $50 but the catch is it orders ink online every 3 months so you are screwed by the printer company .If you dont register the printer it wont print so you are stuck with buying their ink .

10. As Simon Bridges says today, the situation in Auckland is very bad and demands a fiscal rescue package. Otherwise, as he essentially said – can the last person leaving please turn out the lights.

12. Yes Trevor, I guess you lot have to find something to distract from the mess we are in, so blame it on our covid response. Now if we are so broke how come we found money down the back of the couch for $300 million for Phillip Morris to encourage vaping, and 80% pay increase for those highly valued crown workers, money for landlords and yet many rents are still climbing and families earning 200k can get help with ECE costs. Then there are the miserly tax cuts that have been eaten up by rising power, rates and food costs. However, we still have relatively low debt to GDP ratio when compared to many other developed countries. Now Trevor what did Nicoliar promise us?
