Huge shock Poll result after the depressing TVNZ Poll showing the Left would win.

Labour – 33.2
National – 30.7
Greens – 11.6
NZF – 9.1
ACT – 6.6
MP – 5.5
This Poll, after the Pay Equity knee capping, reads more likely than the surprising TVNZ Poll.
The Government was bombarded by negative media for almost 3 weeks, it’s more likely they git hit harder than the TVNZ Poll suggested.
It shows NZF culture war attacks are defiantly winning but the tide has turned out against ACT, which again seems highly possible because Brooke was the face of that change.
This Poll will cheer Labour a lot more than yesterdays, but the issues still remain.
The win requires both sides working together, and this is the rub.
There is reason for the Maori Party and the Greens to show Labour deference to quell fears of Māori and Green radicalism, but ACT and NZF have no such qualms, indeed ripping into National (and each other) is totally advantageous.
The danger for ACT is NZF deciding to make the Regulatory Standards Bill their red line.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

When Labour release their policy in election year they will leap ahead .There is no need to release policy at present because the COC dont have a plan of their own so releasing policy now only allows the COC to take those policies and call them their own .Slow and steady wins the race .
The so called left need to focus on the young new wave of voters and leave the river of filth and white race based crushed middle to the COC who will do a great job of crushing the middle even further before the election .
Winnie Da pooh will accept the RSB because he always wanted to get rid of the TOW out of legislation. However, its implications have far reaching consequences for instance the threat to parliamentary sovereignty & democracy something the right keep harping on about.
Nice to see the Epsom twerp and Cuntessa Van Velden taken down a notch or two.
Greens, TPM and Labour need to start ripping into the CoC and gormless Luxon now that thousands of NZers have personally felt the effect of this right wing pack of vandals.
Well Trevor said wait six months and things will be better, as opposition to the coalition grows that is true.
Its the trend and the CoC is heading downwards. Its just a matter of time to the next election.
So if that was the election result today. Would NZ First or TPM be in a stable government?
TPM would be more stable than the river of filth party because their culture cares about the whole of NZ not just the 10%.
To win the Treasury Benches the opposition Labour Party needs to be more than just ‘Not National’.
Just being ‘Not the Republicans’ failed the Democrats in the US.
The same issues that sunk the Democrats, taxing the rich, stopping the genocide, healthcare provision. Are the very same issues that will sink the Labour Party here.
Unless the Labour Party take a clear opposition stance on all these above issues and make a common cause with their parliamentary allies, the Labour Party will enable a triumphalist right wing Trumpian like, second term by a National, Act, NZF ;ed administration, with all that entails, war, pollution, poverty, homelessness, increased inequality, and privilege. feeding into racism and crime.
If the Act, NZF led National Party coalition government wins the next election the ones responsible witll be the current Labour Party leadership.
Yes the Labour Party doesn’t have to release policy before election year but they do need to rip into this abysmal excuse for a govt now. Chippy needs to lay a solid punch a day to the three headed monster.
You have the best description of the situation, while we hope that they actually come up with some decent policies I won’t be holding my breath waiting. My thoughts are that only if the Greens and TMP get a decent share of the vote will we see meaningful change.
100% Bonnie .I would like to see Hanna given a top roll in government .
I agree.
Labour has to stop being national lite.
Agree100%. And let’s not forget that the current Labour leadership is why Labour lost so dramatically at the last election. With Hipkins at the helm and continues to be as useless as ever…. Not much hope. Also don’t agree Greens and TPM have to genuflect to Labour.
Not true Kiwis swallowed the race baiting hook line and sinker .Remember how you all believed Maori were stealing the water ,And getting sooooo much more than white folk .You all bleated that they were getting superior health care when in fact the cost of the Maori health authority was $200 per maori compared to the $6500 for the rest of NZ .
Agree totally, the danger with a poll such as this is that Labour will think they can sleepwalk to victory. They need to espouse a radical transformational vision – eg a wealth tax, financial transactions tax and a commitment to rolling back the Nats pay equity injustices. Universal basic income?

The ‘Not National’ Labour Party election strategy.
How’s that working out?
Will you reverse the pay equity cuts?
Waffle, waffle, waffle, waffle, “Let’s wait and see the figures”, waffle, waffle.
(Goodness me Labour. You have just lost that negatively affected demographic. Way to go, to give encouragement for a triumphalist far right Trumpian administration on steroids to be returned.)

Ryan Bridge talks to Labour leader Chris Hipkins

Ryan Bridge @1:16 minutes:
Are you at risk of just looking like you stand for nothing?
I mean let’s take the pay equity for example. You still haven’t said definitively, that you would bring back the 13 billion contingency, right?
Chris Hipkins @1:33 minutes:
No, what I’ve said, is that we’ll reverse the changes the government have made…..
[Trying to get a straight answer, Ryan Bridge tries a different tack]
Ryan Bridge @2:07 minutes:
Do you think, if Labor gets into government, will you pick up the shortfall for the funded sector from any pay equity claims?
Will that be your your policy?
Chris Hipkins @2:17 minutes:
How much of that contingency was from the funded sector?
Ryan Bridge @2:22 minutes:
Well, I don’t know!
But what’s your policy on it?
Chris Hipkins @2:25 minutes:
So, so yeah.
But how are you asking me, to answer those questions, if I don’t know, and you don’t know. We can’t answer questions that we don’t know the answers to……

No hope. With him on top. Oh god.
Don’t get excited by single polls. This one shows a small movement to the left, the TVNZ poll a small movement to the right. Polls have been doing this for a while – it’s all locked up and too close to call and has been for some time. The only thing that looks unfortunately consistent is NZF strengthening.
If the Minister of (Household) Finance stays firm in her delusions, the economy may stay in the basement into next year, and that may break the deadlock. Or something may break the deadlock in the other direction – perhaps if Luxo is replaced by Erica Stanford, who is far better than Luxon at disguising the intrinsic malevolence of their shared ideology by deploying a superficially fluent windbaggery, rather than dumb, repetitive cliches.
Jesus mate have you not been listening ,she is learning the art of talking Luxon shit waffle very quickly and will surpass him shortly .
All this anti Hipkins narrative is feeding into the atlas propaganda. The terrible 3 will enjoy this and target Hipkins in an effort to destabilize his leadership especially now things are actually looking up for the left bloc.
Not sure why Martin is shocked .Clearly TV1 has fucked up and should go back and look at its results .You can only talk shit ,tell lies .and fuck the 90% over for so long before they fuck you at the polling station .
Hiring creeps like ClusterFuxon’s Press Secretary surely doesn’t help their case.
Prime Minister’s deputy chief press secretary Michael Forbes resigns after reportedly recording sex workers without consent
Michael Forbes also worked for Upston. One can only imagine what went on in her chambers?
This if to be expected when you piss off half the population.
