NZCTU 

he NZCTU have launched a new policy programme and are calling on political parties to adopt bold policies in the lead up to the next election. The Government is scrapping the 30-day rule that automatically signs an employee up to the collective agreement when they sign on to a new job. NZEI is calling for a $2.5 billion boost to support for children with disabilities, including $1b to put a teacher aide in every classroom. Briscoes and Rebel Sport workers have rejected a pay deal that includes increases that are lower than cost-of-living increases.

    Yes, think of the improved learning in overcrowded and understaffed classrooms.
    Think of the improvement in the educational standards of state schools( My God! they may even come to outperform private schools!).
    Think of the improved outcomes for children of immigrants, Maori, Pasifika, single parents.
    Think of the general well being of society as a whole through more skilled and qualified people.
