Israel has officially confirmed the deaths of the Bibas family mother and children in Gaza. All the evidence is that they were killed very early in the war. This narrative didn’t suit the Israeli authorities who kept claiming that they were still alive. To admit that the Bibas family were killed so early on in the war would raise the question in people’s minds; ‘Why would Hamas take hostages and then shortly after, kill them? The obvious conclusion to be drawn, is that the Israeli forces killed them.
The Bibas family, Yarden Bibas and his wife Shiri, (nee Silberman), and their two young sons, Ariel, 4 and Kfir, 9 months, were kidnapped and taken into Gaza on October 7, According to Hamas, Shiri Bibas and her children Ariel and Kfir were killed in the indiscriminate carpet bombing of Gaza city that began on October 8, and that ended on October 27. By that time many thousands of civilians including the Bibas family were already dead. Yarden Bibas, who had been kept hostage in a separate location, survived the October carpet bombing campaign.
On November 7 or thereabouts, Hamas released a video of Yarden Bibas being informed of his wife and children’s deaths. Israeli media denounced this video as psychological warfare and misinformation.
For propaganda purposes, the Israeli authorities kept up a disinformation campaign that claimed all the Bibas family members were still alive and that Hamas were still holding them.

Rory and Alistair being even more interesting than last time I heard them. One thing they discuss is how people in roles of political importance may have exaggerated their experience in the world and are more virtual virgins about life and work experience outside politics. Representatives of the Russian Federation and the USA met together in Saudi Arabia to hammer out a deal to end the war in Ukraine and divvy up the Ukraine’s resources. Representatives of the people of Ukraine were not invited.
Imperialist powers have always squabbled over the control of resources and territories, and have always done so over the heads of the governments of those territories with zero regard for the interests and welfare of the people who live in those territories.

Not much has changed. Russia and the US want to carve up Ukraine between them, Russia wants Ukraine’s grain, and the US wants Ukraine’s minerals. The people of Ukraine and their political representatives were not invited to the discussions between these two imperialist powers, nor were they party to the negotiations.
