Cough.
Cough.
So, NO ONE in the mainstream NZ media will comment or explain to the public what USAID money they received from America and whether or not it had any impact on editorial positions in regards to America and our relationship with America?
NO ONE.
Last week, Wikileaks reported that 25 NZ mainstream media outlets were given funding from USAID.

The Daily Blog reported on it.
No one else did.
So.
Again.
We need an immediate explanation from our Mainstream Media Owners if they changed any editorial stance that aligned us with America while taking this money.
Every single one of those 25 media need to explain the funding and its possible impact on the way news was angled in favour of America.
Now.
This needs to happen now.
Because otherwise – what the fuck?
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Would it be better or worse if the New Zealand MSM was acting as a US propaganda channel for free, gratis, as we might have previously assumed?
Yes, it’s called bribery
Bribery on the one hand or wanton treason on the other. Not much to choose between them.
Advertorial v. editorial…advertorials have to flag it’s a promo.
Maybe the wikileaks revelations helps explain their (our medias) silence over the persecution of Julian Assange …. His truth threatened their propaganda.
Along similar lines we have google….. algorithms for bias.
No prizes for guessing whose bias.
Pretty obvious that they tone their stance towards USA, when you look at their views on Israel/Gaza.
And they want me to pay for content ?? Ya joking.
Remember when to visit Soviet Russia you had to book via ‘InterTourist’ now the progressive news advertising gets booked via ‘InterNews’. The guy that came up with that name must be a real wag.
Same bs as the monopoly school lunch contract going ‘The Collective.’
It’s called ‘massaging’ the news.
The MSM don’t censor the news, they ‘massage’ it.
In the age of social media, the MSM can not get away with total censorship of the news. If the MSM totally ignores breaking news stories they will be scooped by social media and by citizen reporters who will cover it. Continually being scooped by Social Media, undermines the MSM’s credibility, which causes them to lose readership and influence.
So instead of not reporting news that the MSM don’t like, they massage it.
Recently Stuff and the other mainstream media ran banner headlines accusing Hamas of breaking the ceasefire because they were late providing the name of one of the hostages.
Yesterday, Israel carried out an air raid on the Gaza strip during the ceasefire.
But you didn’t see that as a headline, I only read about it, buried many paragraphs down near the very bottom of a report carried on Stuff.co.nz about the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s visit to Israel;
Rubio in Israel says Hamas must be eradicated, casting further doubt on Gaza’s shaky ceasefire
MATTHEW LEE and NATALIE MELZER
https://www.stuff.co.nz/world-news/360583244/rubio-israel-says-hamas-must-be-eradicated-casting-further-doubt-gazas-shaky-ceasefire
……The Israeli military meanwhile said it carried out an airstrike Sunday (local time) on people who approached its forces in southern Gaza. The Hamas-run Interior Ministry said the strike killed three of its policemen while they were securing the entry of aid trucks near Rafah, on the Egyptian border…..
A minor breach of the ceasefire agreement by Hamas gets banner headlines, a major breach by Israel is a footnote in a report about something else.
Massaging the news.
The case of a Downs Syndrome man Mohammad Bhar, who was savaged by an IDF soldier’s dog and then locked in a room and left to die, while his family were driven away at gunpoint and prevented from helping him. This was reported in passive voice by the BBC as the lonely death of a Downs Syndrome man.
The true details of the horrific killing of Mohammad Bhar at the hands of the IDF was only covered well down in the report.
From Wikipedia:
….Mohammad’s killing provoked outrage on social media websites, and his family demanded an investigation into the incident. The BBC, which reported on the incident, was criticized for obscuring the Israeli military’s role….

Sky News Australia interviews the former official IDF spokesperson due to visit Australia.
“I think that there are a few issues that really need to be, how should we say it? ‘massaged’….” Former IDF spokesperson Lt. Colonel Jonathan Conricus,

Do New Zealand Main Stream Media editors agree with Lt. Colonel Conricus, that there a few issues that really need to be ‘massaged’?
New Zealand’s largest most respected ‘massage’ establishment is looking for staff, male or female, prepared to service our exclusive clientele. Situated in the heart of Auckland’s CBD, 100 Victoria Street West. Staff must leave their self respect at the door, and must agree that all money transfers with the client will be handled by management.
I bet some of those same media orgainisations, were also reporting about NZ’s great concern, over the Cook Islands cozzying up to China.
At least the China and Cook Islands interlude was publicised, and didn’t require the likes of Wikileaks, to inform us.
The Cook Islands potentially becoming a free country is not of concern to any actual New Zealander, only american-lovers.
I absolutely agree!
