Sometimes, just sometimes, Matua Winston really does lead with his old school class…

…Kicking Golriz while she’s down has no honour in it, no mana, it’s just a sick cultural sadism played out by people whose stark loneliness finds solace in ritualistic public humiliation.
How can images supposedly held secure by the cops, by a private security company and by the Supermarkets get leaked to a hateful spite blogger?
This tweet by him attacking the right wing trolls and slime balls over their evisceration of Golriz is just and a reminder that Winston can show true values sometimes.
Credit where it its due – good call Winston.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Well said Winston.
This is just the start, Winston is going for the high ground and soon to amp things up as the coalition keeps falling apart. Luxon will be like a possum frozen in the glare of the headlights and pissing in his pyjamas at the same time.
Winston might well wish to “stop the politicking, demeaning and slander of past politicians”. He and many others in the colonial regime have a vested interest in taking such a stand.
Our interest and our judgement should depend upon what a politician did while in office, that is to say their political actions when in power.
Golriz Ghahraman is a sad case which illustrates the human frailty of politicians. Nothing more than that. Therefore the general public should no longer take an interest in what is happening in her life.
However Winston will always be held to account for his much more serious political crimes until the day of his passing and beyond. Hopefully we will also be able to acknowledge the good that he achieved in his career before becoming an apologist for genocide.
Hooten in his column NZ Herald “One And Done” asks how can Labour make a rapprochement with NZFirst. Then Winston shows a gentlemanly Olive Branch to the Greens.
No-one in NZ First, Labour or Greens want Seymour to be Deputy PM.
Peters is one of nature’s gentlemen, as well being one of the best and best-informed speakers in a Parliament where ignorance now prevails, loudly. I voted NZ First and intend doing so again.
It helps that Golriz was on good terms with Ron Mark, from what I have read as well.
Golriz was a ghastly politician and should have stuck to law. Kicking someone who is post politics is outrageous is bizarre. Winston is right.
Gokriz was a great politician and it’s a shame she has had such a serious mental health issue or breakdown that has so publicly played out. Good on Winston for sticking it to the trolls. The real issue is how the police got the images from the supermarket and tried to slam her with it in court.
Do Police ever do internal inquiries. They are a large employer, so it’s something you would expect with any large employer. But with the Police lack of diversity, old boys networks, and bullying, reported in recent inquiries by Kim Workman and others, do Police still want to turn a blind eye when inappropriateness occurs? Nothing ever happened to the officer who planted the evidence that initially wrongfully convicted Arthur Thomas.
Was there an internal Police inquiry into the planting of that evidence – I don’t recall it.
Will there be an internal inquiry into the Police use of the supermarket cctv footage – I doubt it.
Will Mark Mitchell say anything about the Police cctv footage usage – I don’t think so.
Will Mark Mitchell say anything about the recent antics of destiny church leather clad patched members intimidating the public – his silence will be deafening.
Will Mark Mitchell say anything about how Police will improve handling of abuse in state care, that is brought to Police attention in future – Mark Mitchell will not mention this very important issue.
Will Mark Mitchel address the death threats Golriz received while in Parliament – not until hell freezes over.
Will Mark Mitchell have anything to say about the next gang tangi – you bet your bottom dollar.
I’m not saying the officers who decided to use the supermarket footage against Golriz, should be sacked, but they should be named! They should not be able to hide their own identity safely behind the Police wall of secrecy, while bravely leaking cctv footage to a right wing blogger and fellow proudboy. The Police systems are such that any person accessing Police systems is identified to that system when they access it. So it would not be hard for a Police internal inquiry to identify who was leaking to the blogger, and such an inquiry would give the public more confidence in Police. And the public certainly need more confidence in Police, when it comes to the Police investigating abuse in state care, because it doesn’t look like anything has changed or will change, and Mark Mitchell will be M.I.A, unless abuse of children in state care were to happen at a gang tangi.
Nothing to hide, nothing to fear, works both ways.
