Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird Bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Human beings (ourselves) find ourselves so boring and unprofitable when the big money is available to study something that happened 13 billion years ago! We are so smart we will cut ourselves into bits and feed us into a machine that dissolves our bodies with enzymes which provides fuel for an AI machine that remains on a nearly deserted planet studying the skies for dangerous meteorites in accordance with it program. To get an idea of the situation watch Hal’s behaviour in 2001 A Space Odyssey.

    • Ah ha Grey Warbler, ‘2001 Space Odessy ‘ is my favourite film, followed by ‘Farewell My Concubine’ and ‘ Burnt by the Sun.” China and Russia respectively. The worst have to be ‘ Titanic’ and ‘ Forrest Gump’, but I don’t get to the movies that often. Not like the Saturday matinees when once were children, and tickets cost thrupence or sixpence, depending.

AI, dehumanising as it is, will hopefully self-destruct, but not before it has wreaked havoc among real humans who deserve better, and being totally lacking in emotion or empathy, AI won’t care, and that’s a bit of a shame.

Boycotting businesses utilising AI isn’t too bad an idea…

      • Boy/girl-cotting could be good, exert a little pressure on the wallet of the wealthy. But treat yourself on the side, you can still buy jaffas even if you’re too mature to roll them down the aisles HoV. Happy memories.

We need more explicit sexual information when we are young which includes feelings not just specifications for a human body. Thinking at present is that the act of sex is something filthy in one place when something private is observed, but when some lusty person calls up a person on Tinder it becomes everyday like having a cup of coffee (Grace Millane).

Neither is right, or reasonable. Can we give our sensual side the respect it deserves – our life force and our background controlling lifelong drive?

Our hero. Fighting council authority for principle. No good though – under our democratic system you have to follow rigidly the autocratic system with their pettifogging laws which they produce like confetti. Reasonableness, rationality, effectiveness and value to the community ways and good doesn’t come into it. He was charged $40 and had to pay $34 Court costs – cheap.

I had forgotten to reregister my car. And got noticed twice on consecutive days, then didn’t pay those – I was doing other things – and ended up paying $255.00 twice. This at a time when wages in NZAO have been pushed low and inflation has been pushed high, and on top 15% charged for every thing you buy while you live, don’t think it was on my fines though. Some country, some happy democracy! (Paraphrasing Winston Churchill.)!

Swingeing fines on everybody and especially the bottom feeders without money to pay such outrageous charges, a smaller fine would be appropriately dealt. I am not on the bones of my bum but am more worried about the way this country is being controlled which isn’t fine, so could survive my fines over $500. But other people are being fined and put into debt far beyond their means.

Looking at those in Natattact and Labour (which has scored an unfortunate duck – Mallard spitting on the rabble with his sprinklers) it shows that NZAO has lost much of its cohesion, but not all of it gone. Those who remain with the spirit need to take it out and polish it, mend cracks and forge ahead like a Far North Going with a rugby ball. Even if we don’t play rugby, it’s the spirit that counts, from within, and we have to find our own ethos as an honest merchant in all, with energy and glow with it.

Kaeo, Far North. An example of where the national government should be working with residents to rehouse them. Gets flooded regularly. Now drinking water for 10 years with a boil first requirement, and brown water.

It’s time for government to find a decent spot for the people on higher ground as well as good clear pure water. And not at a big cost, just small, and low cost mortgages for houses. Perhaps some tiny homes for a few. Mostly family homes, school and services and shops above flood level.

Perhaps Shane Jones can bring his Maori side to care for the good people of Kaeo and do something in this election cycle. I think that politicians have got stuck on two wheeled cycles., there are other meanings.

  5. And, just when you think the Penkster might be in the running for one of the better gNACToids, he shows us what a cowardly, punitive, wannabe big balls he thinks He is.
    Trumpian or what!
