Gaza Strip
Attacks: There are no safe places for the militarily-dominated population in Gaza, who find themselves subjected to airstrikes and other missile attacks on buildings, homes and many essentialfacilities, as well as constant gunfire and invasions by Israeli forces. The Israeli Navy continues to fire missiles, targeting facilities and buildings along the entire Gaza shoreline.
Victims: 31 more people have been killed within the past 48 hours, bringing the total number killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023 to at least 45,885. Another 57 have been wounded, bringing that total to 109,196. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 100 and that of those injured is now more than 238.

Israeli attacks damage nearly 1,000 mosques in Gaza, authorities say
Nearly 1,000 mosques were damaged in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip last year, Anadolu Agency reports. In a statement, the Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs said 815 Muslim worship places were entirely destroyed and 151 others partially damaged. The ministry said 19 cemeteries and three churches were also destroyed in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza in 2024. Read more
UN ‘deeply concerned’ over babies freezing to death from cold weather in Gaza
The UN, on Monday, expressed grave concern after the death of a one-month-old baby in Gaza due to hypothermia, marking the eighth such fatality in less than three weeks, Anadolu Agency reports. “The Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is deeply concerned by reports that a one-month-old baby has died in the Gaza Strip due to hypothermia, according to the Ministry of Health. This is the eighth such child death due to the cold in less than three weeks,” UN spokesman, Stephane Dujarric, said at a news conference. Read more

Virtual reality: Providing injured Gazans an alternative space to heal
For patients with amputations, it can take many months to come to terms with the loss of a limb, Mosab Ali found using VR headsets can help speed up the process and help Palestinians in Gaza come to terms with their loss and find an alternative space where they can be safe. In a small, crowded room in Gaza, laughter cuts through the heavy air of despair. A 12-year-old boy leaps and runs – kicking a virtual football with both legs intact. He’s wearing a virtual reality (VR) headset, but the joy on his face is unmistakably real. US Defied Spanish Embargo on Arms Bound for Israel by Making Enforcement More Difficult
As the diplomatic row over the embargo escalates, the U.S. sent Israel millions of pounds of ammunition through Spanish territory. The US Department of Defence sent over a thousand tons of ammunition to Israel on a ship that stopped at a US naval base in Spain — a violation of Spain’s embargo on ships carrying military cargo bound for Israel, according to researchers from the Palestinian Youth Movement and Progressive International. The ship, owned by Sealift Inc., was also used for delivering aid to Gaza last spring, when the US carried out its disastrous and short-lived floating pier aid mission. While partly operated by the US Navy, Naval Station Rota is Spanish territory technically beholden to Spanish law. Moving ammunition bound for Israel through a US Navy base on Spanish soil makes enforcement of the embargo trickier. Read more
Israel is killing civilians in Gaza on purpose, and it’s not even debatable
Just so we’re all clear, it is a fully established fact that the IDF is directly, deliberately killing civilians in Gaza. There was a time in the early days of the genocide when this could be disputed, but that is no longer true. The facts are in and the case is closed. It’s happening. Israeli soldiers are telling the press that they’ve been knowingly killing civilians and then falsely categorising them as terrorists afterward. Countless doctors have testified to routinely encountering dead and wounded children who’ve been shot in the head by Israeli snipers. Israeli media reports have revealed that the IDF is intentionally targeting civilian infrastructure and using AI systems to specifically target suspected Hamas members when they are at home with their families instead of out on the battlefield. Since midnight on 07 October 2023, Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure around the whole of the West Bank, preventing people (including even permit– holders) from bothentering the city of Jerusalem as well as Israel, otherwise than for especially–negotiated exceptions. Permanent military checkpoints impose severe travel restrictions within the Occupied West Bank.
