Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

Government by edict borne by the people.
Instead of government with guidelines, sometimes demands, with the people.
Do it our way or else says authoritarian government – we are the masters and mistresses and fit our pattern or you’ll regret it. So much for flaming democracy.

This, while people are being plunged into unmanageable debt and unlivable standards, and being squeezed for money – because it is good for you, so prate on the prosy bastards (and women do not take offence at being included in that sexist degrading description).

Be sorry for the policewoman killed – but society is being maddened deliberately by those in power. The PTB don’t care about such results, it just advances their personal fortunes as they make gates for gated communities and privatise the dying business of undertakers etc. People often can’t afford the necessaries required now. All things are connected by neoliberalism and technology, poking into our lives from brtth to death and our rubbish!

  2. Post-Christmas – your tree all undressed and nowhere to go – some options and note Wellington shining for once. Give it the star from the top.
Tip Shop Wellington is taking all Christmas trees for free at its recycling centre at the Southern Landfill in Owhiri Bay until 20 January. In a post on social media, Wellington City Council said it received 5000 trees each year, which were turned into about 1000 40-litre bags of organic compost.

In Christchurch, the council suggests residents chop up the tree and put it in their green organics bin, or take it to an EcoDrop transfer station in Bromley, Wigram or Redwood; charges apply.

And if you’re anywhere near Palmerston North, you can take your tree for free to the Awapuni Resource Recovery Park until the end of January, where it will be recycled and turned into compost for the city’s parks.

Objectively can any ferries handle Cook Strait in bad winds? Does anyone know of good informed shipping writing with detail that would be readable by ordinary folks on this topic?

What factors should we consider? Should we improve the entrance to Wellington with blasting? Was it a good idea to shift some of the ferry sailings from Picton to the other more southern area at Clifford Bay. (I’m wrong there as looking at the latitudes for Clifton Bay and Wellington they are almost opposite each other on a map). Clifford Bay is wide but shallow I think, with possibly less turning and manoeuvring problems? Could we still have sailings to Picton still for tourism and certain regular freight?
