ZB Troll Heather Du Plessis Allan said the Left had misread the room.
No we didn’t.
She did!
In my 32 years of activism in this country, I have never seen a protest that large…
Can’t stop a movement! https://t.co/wCfVBT2zxq
— Moana M (@moanatribe) November 19, 2024
…there was 55 000+ and it is a rallying call between New Zealand and Old Zealand.
It is the political right wanting to trash the Treaty who have misread the room!

ACT could only front the protest behind a police line…

…National, NZF and ACT Fucked around and yesterday and they found out!
Yesterday, Mohammad came to the Mountain…

…Dame Jenny Shipley says ACT is inviting a race war.
Chris Finlayson is saying ACT have damaged our global reputation for race relations.
40 King Council’s are warning the Government not to do this.
The Waitangi Tribunal says it will be the worst piece of legislation ever.
So don’t dare pretend this is ‘just-a-debate’, it’s a far right ideological war, and the front line is everywhere.
Yesterday 55 000 descended upon Parliament in the largest ever protest against this appalling legislation and it won’t stop there.
I warned and warned and warned on this very blog that this legislation would start conflict, brew divisiveness and generate a backlash that will sit this Government on its arse!
Well, you reap what you sow.
Ake Ake Ake.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

Worlds first march for Inequality.
against inequality
So how is a continuation and further extension of preferential treatment based on race not inequality?
If replying to this is proving too problematic feel free to pass it onto a member of the Maori elite – they literally make a living out of convincing stupid people that racist bullshit is not actually racist (because of you know – colonialism).
I’m gonna bring two people around to yours – have a vote on who should live there and then oust your vain efforts at proving ownership and scream at you – DEMOCRACY! EQUAL RIGHTS!
You really have no understanding of what this bill is actually about do you.
Heather duTroll thought the hikoi was a bit of a fizzer, underwhelming. I used to listen occasionally to get an alternative viewpoint, see how the far right think. No more. She’s fallen below Troll level now, just toxic slime now with nothing to add to the debate.
i AGREE 100%.
This was huge.
Then add the supporters lining the sides of the route all the way .
So numbers in total would have been easily over 200,000 plus.
The Police estimate of the Hikoi turnout is definitely well shy of the actual number.
– As a recent txter to RNZ Morning Report just pointed out, Lord of the Rings Premiere had an estimate of 100,000. I live in the area. The Hikoi was FAR larger.
– From where I live with a view of Waitangi Park, at one stage there was NO ground space showing at the park and the roadway across to the New World supermarket, and people were assembling around the bay back towards the Freyburg Pool. Others coming from northern suburbs went straight to Parliament.
– During the Hikoi, whilst my daughter, her friends and I reached Willis Street, my sister was still at the Cambridge Tce Fire Station.
– And let’s also NOT forget supporters around the country (in places such as Hokitika) who for various reasons could not attend
At the same time that the hikoi assembled before Parliament a thousand marched in the little town of Thames. Extrapolate that over the whole motu.
and overseas as well big turn outs in London ,Melbourne Sydney and even New york
Heather Du Plessis White flight South African .
97% of South African immigrants are White Afrikaaners.
70,000 White South Africans working with ACT setting up the
New Transvaal apartheid in Auckland then the rest of the country to follow.
“Ya Ve need to send these Kaffirs to Vinston Peters Auchwitz Birkenau extemination camps.” That will fix them
The hikoi was just a bunch of losers who should be at work.
Brilliant comment! Do you write your own material?
we took a leave you dummy
Oh dear I should have taken leave from my retirement!
I agree Maninblack, those ACT losers should not have taken time off their jobs to greet the hiking but the did and scuttled back to work when they weren’t greeted with applause.
More likely the coppers told them,” OK you lot, Piss off, you’ve caused enough trouble.”
And once again Luxon was hiding away no wonder he is selling all his houses .He can now see what a fuck up he is creating but does not have the balls to fix it .Easy really ,tell ACT to bugger off and have another election .
This protest is a triumph of organisation. Thousands of people to organise, marshal, house and feed.
It provides an example that future protests must match. That other big protest that was disorganised, violent, and not focused is an example of failure.
I am really impressed.
It was impressive. The taxpayer’s union is asking questions about who funded it. All the portaloos and stage at Waitangi Park were paid for by someone.
The Taxpayers Union sound frightened
The truth hurts
I agree, Jordan Williams sent out an email.
Ennius the disingenuous should write a letter to Little Dave asking for ALL these ” rights ” to be bestowed upon him that Mãori got onwards from Te Tiriti that poor wee Ennuis missed out on.
After all Little Dave purports it to be true.
OToole, I am not an ACT voter and I think the Bill is divisive and misconceived. You assume that because I have view A that I hold view B too.
Ennuis, you sound like you are another unintelligent White Supremacist.
How many were at Coldplay last week?
The skin head gang leader was a no show again .Trying to get those house sales over the line so he can do a mid night runner .
It was Jacinda that did the runner
Oh Trevor , you spastic, you’re at it again with your pathetic immature replies. Oh and check your appalling spelling “rgeir is not a word, you illiterate.
I’ll make it clear to you one last time, Ardern left because right wing fruit loops like you threatened to kill her child. Got it!
Calling anybody spastic shows a poor understanding of someone truly suffering from this condition. A leopard showing his spots perhaps
Calling anybody spastic shows a poor understanding of someone truly suffering from this condition. A leopard showing his spots perhaps
yes trev and so did JOHN
Gordon, you can bet he is aware that his colleagues are ready to give him the Heave Ho.
Did you call the 35 thousand in Dunedin who marched to save their new build hospital from being down graded losers Maninblack or are you just a Maori basher. And did our media or anyone say anything about the NZ kids at the Americas cup waging school or is it alright for the rich kids.
And seamore said the hikoi numbers were not representative of NZ when he only got 8% of the election vote. I think he is non representative as he only got in because Luxon was so so so desperate to be PM and has shown he will do almost anything. NZ First are looking after their corporate backers who want to destroy our environments as is Act and we all know the T.O.W stands in their way.
Spot on re and our Nz. You’ve nailed it. It’s not just this bill, it’s the fucking Dunedin hospital no build, it’s the under funding of health , it’s the no Picton ferries etc etc etc.
Luxon won’t do almost anything…he’ll literally do anything. And has done. Much to the disgust of previous Nats as pointed out.
It would be foolish to under-estimate the electoral effectiveness and purpose of creating division – consciously, deliberately and as part of your long term electoral strategy. All the pushback that is happening now would have been known by Nationals leaders and strategists when they were developing their election campaign.
This is not an accident of MMP or ‘Luxons weakness’. This is is a well planned (in advance) surgical, coordinated assault on all fronts against Maori – targeting progress in health, education, the public sector, housing, employment and now in legal law framework of the country.
In the past 12 months I wonder what percentage of the governments time has been dedicated to rolling back progress for Maori? The Treaty Bill is just the icing on the cake, the final insult intended to drive home just how indifferent and dismissive the government and it’s supporters feel towards Maori New Zealanders.
For National the longer term purpose of all the noise is to build in the ‘Treaty issue’ as part of the next election as the wedge issue they’ll need to continue their economic program.
Behind it all is a big push to roll back constraints on land and coastal ocean for extractive industries.
Nothing new – the first wave Brexit, Trump 2016, Mhodi, Bolsenaro etc. The new wave – Argentina – Milei (austerity), NZ – National (austerity), UK – Labour (austerity), US – Trump (austerity). Lower taxes, less regulation (consumer and labor protections) and smaller government. All used racial division of some sort to drive electoral support. Same old same old.
If Luxon reneges on his promise to end this nonsense at the second reading then this will be just a precursor
I don’t think Luxon will renege; he has unintentionally made Seymour look isolated and the hikoi was very impressive. He’d be stupid to prove Shipley right with her comments on civil war. He can now let Seymour dig himself further into a hole. Having said all that, I don’t think Luxon has much political nous and he will not spot the gift given to him. ACT need to be crushed and now is a perfect time.
