Gaza Strip
Attacks: There are no safe places for the militarily-dominated population in Gaza, who find themselves subjected to airstrikes and other missile attacks on buildings, homes and many essentialfacilities, as well as constant gunfire and invasions by Israeli forces. The Israeli Navy continues to fire missiles, targeting facilities and buildings along the entire Gaza shoreline.
Victims: 77 more people have been killed within the past 48 hours, bringing the total number killed in Gaza since 7 October to at least 42,924. Another 289 have been wounded, bringing that total to 100,833. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 111 and, that of those injured, is now more than 262.

Israel does not need to build gas ovens; its bombs turn Palestinian homes into gas ovens that burn Palestinians alive.
Israeli war crimes and crimes against humanity
“extreme under any circumstances”
Chris Sidoti, UN Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory including East Jerusalem and Israel, in an interview with ABC news reporter Joe O’Brien.
“The events since October 7 have been absolutely overwhelming. And that means they are overwhelming for everybody, but particularly for the people who are experiencing them, those who are suffering. The victims. It’s regularly said that October 7 represented the greatest killing of Jewish people since the Holocaust. And that’s correct. What’s said less frequently is that the killing of Palestinians since then represents the greatest Slaughter of Palestinians in their recorded history.”
In relation to the Health Care System, we have found intentional concerted efforts to destroy the Health Care system in Gaza. That’s putting it very boldly but those are the facts. The destruction of hospitals, clinics, other forms of Health Care Centres, ambulances and the killing of literally hundreds of doctors and health care workers. We found war crimes and crimes against humanity in relation to the Israeli treatment of prisoners. The fact that they are tortured and mistreated, denied adequate food and access to Medical Care, subjected to sexual violence, including rape. And we made similar findings in relation to the treatment of the Israeli and foreign hostages in Gaza. Again, killing, torture and mistreatment, sexual violence, deprivation of adequate food, water and health care. So the situation is truly overwhelming. One of the issues that we addressed in our report in June was that the whole strategy behind the Israeli campaign in Gaza, that is the basic modus operandi of the fighting, has been such as to violate fundamental principles of international humanitarian law.
The lack of distinction between civilians and combatants, the lack of proportionality, the unreasonableness of the responses. These principles apply regardless of the situation on the ground and Israel has violated those principles. Principles we’ve looked at, the issues about the use of human shields, if you like, the violation of civilian property by Hamas. We have found some evidence of that, but only limited evidence. One difficulty we faced is the non-co-operation, indeed the obstruction by the Israeli authorities. They denied us access to the evidence that they have and denied us the opportunity to go and see for ourselves. So we were looking at those issues with one hand tied behind our backs and it was difficult to do so. So we found some evidence, but we were unable to come to any conclusions as to the extent of that. The simple fact though, the bottom line, is that war crimes are being committed at a scale that is extreme under any circumstances.
Israeli attack forces last functioning hospital in north Gaza to halt operations
Northern Gaza’s health system is now completely out of service following an Israeli invasion of the last operational hospital in the area on Friday, a health official said. According to Marwan al-Homs, the director of field hospitals at the Palestinian Health Ministry, around 200 critically wounded patients at the Kamal Adwan Hospital are at risk of imminent death after an invasion by Israeli forces that destroyed medical supplies and detained staff.
“If the world does not intervene to stop this crime and the genocide in Gaza, the certain fate of these patients is death,” he told Al Jazeera during a live interview on Saturday. “Israeli soldiers destroyed all drug inventories at the hospital yesterday, claiming they were looking for militants. Now, all drug stocks have been deliberately damaged to prevent doctors from saving the lives of the wounded.”
“The smell of death is everywhere at the hospital and in its vicinity,” he added.
Israeli forces kill children, detain staff and patients at Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital
Israeli forces detained male medical staff as well as wounded patients in Gaza’s Kamal Adwan Hospital, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said on Saturday. Israeli forces also trapped women in the hospital in a room without any water or food. “The current situation inside Kamal Adwan Hospital is alarmingly deteriorating. The total number of people inside the hospital is 600, including patients, wounded, medical staff and companions” the Ministry said in a statement. According to the Ministry, two children were killed in the intensive care unit after the hospital’s generators stopped working, and Israeli forces targeted the oxygen facilities. They added that Israeli forces made their way into the hospital, shooting inside various wards and causing panic.
Palestinian civilians forced out of Jabalia recall terror by Israeli Army
Displaced residents of northern Gaza provide testimony on horrors along their ‘torturous journey’ to the south as Israeli soldiers beat the wounded and quadcopters shot at everyone. For three weeks, Muhammed Krayem and his family could barely find anything to eat as they endured a suffocating siege in northern Gaza, where the Israeli Army continues what residents call an “ethnic cleansing” of the area. When one of their neighbours attempted to reach a school in search of canned food, he was shot directly in the leg by the Israeli Army and left to bleed for over two hours while soldiers prevented anyone from approaching him. Krayem (aged 38), recounts to Middle East Eye a harrowing journey of multiple forced displacements and relentless attacks along the way, which left him and all his family members wounded before they were forced out of Jabalia in the northern Gaza Strip….
An urgent international intervention is needed to send rescue and ambulance crews to a residential block in Jabalia Refugee Camp, in the northern Gaza Strip, after Israeli occupation forces bombed it last night. The horrifying massacre, during which Israeli forces destroyed homes over the heads of their residents, also requires a serious international investigation. Initial reports from the Euro-Med Monitor field team state that at least 13 homes in Block 7 on Jabalia Camp’s Al-Houja Street were bombed by Israeli warplanes at approximately 8pm on Thursday, 24 October. The residents of these homes chose to remain in the area and not follow the Israeli evacuation orders, particularly after the Israeli occupation army targeted people who attempted to leave their homes and killed them in the streets or arrested and mistreated them. According to the Euro-Med Monitor field team, over 25 members of the Abu Rashid family were killed. Other families have been completely removed from the civil registry. There are also reports of 45 members of the same family killed, and 30 members of the Aql family killed.
Israel kills at least 820 Palestinians in 22-day siege of northern Gaza
Israel has prevented the entry of aid into the area and launched a renewed assault, in what appears to be an attempt to kill, starve or forcibly expel Palestinians from their homes and shelters. “The Israeli army has killed over 820 Palestinians within the span of just over three weeks in northern Gaza,” said Ismail Thawabta, director of the media office. “Dozens of bodies lie in the streets and inside destroyed homes, as countless Palestinians remain trapped in an area under relentless bombardment,” he added. Israel has ordered Palestinians in the north to head south to ‘safe zones’, however witnesses have reported being shot at by Israeli snipers and drones when trying to do this.
Hospitals have also come under attack, with the army bombing and storming the Kamal Adwan Hospital in Beit Lahia on Friday. The Israeli army struck the facility’s oxygen station, disrupting supply to the hospital’s many wounded patients, as well as newborn babies. Israeli soldiers forced patients and medical staff into the hospital’s courtyard on Friday and detained several people from the facility early on Saturday. They also shot at patients and staff inside, killing two children. Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 42,924 people and wounded more than 100,000 since October 2023.
Survivors of north Gaza invasion report Israeli ‘extermination’ campaign
Survivors of the ongoing Israeli extermination campaign in north Gaza describe how the Israeli Army is separating mothers from children before forcing them south, executing civilians in ditches, and directly targeting hospitals and medical staff. On Thursday night, the Gaza Civil Defence announced that a massive Israeli airstrike targeting a residential area on al-Hawaja Street in the northern Gaza town of Jabalia killed over 150 people. “A horrific massacre is taking place in al-Hawaja Street in block 7 in Jabalia,” the Civil Defence spokesperson, Mahmoud Basal, said in a statement posted to Telegram. “There is no one here to save them.” The Israeli Army claimed the massive attack was targeting a Hamas commander allegedly responsible for the October 7 attack last year.
On October 5, the Israeli Army stormed the northern Gaza Strip, an area that includes Jabalia, Jabalia refugee camp, Beit Lahia, the Tawam area, Attatrah and the Saftawi area. The ongoing campaign is an implementation of the so-called “Generals’ Plan,” named after a proposal by a group of senior Israeli military officials, based on an earlier proposal by retired Israeli General Giora Eiland, which aims to empty the north of Gaza through starvation and bombardment. According to the plan, those who remain in northern Gaza are to be considered enemy combatants and subsequently eliminated. The Associated Press reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told Israeli lawmakers that he was considering adopting the plan weeks ahead of the invasion.
. . .“They are forcibly displacing us from our land and our homes,” she continued. “They are killing those who remain in the most horrific ways. They are depriving us of water, medicine and food. They are preventing rescue teams from getting to the wounded. It’s actual extermination. They are like none other than Hitler.”
Israeli soldiers sing and dance as they bomb Lebanon
A video shared by Israeli media shows occupation forces singing and dancing in southern Lebanon as their colleagues are bombing the area not far from them.
Northern Gaza is what you imagine Hell to be, and probably worse
We are being strangled. The only thing that can stop our suffering is an end to this siege. Can you imagine what it feels like to be told that you and your family may be killed if you do not leave your home? That you all have minutes to leave, with no possessions, or face death? I do. Five times. Five times now we have had to do this. Five times now, my family has been forced from safety. Sometimes we are “warned”. Orders are handed down by the Israeli military demanding that we must move on within hours. Other times, we only know to leave when the bullets crack against the walls of our shelter. In these cases, we have to run with nothing but the clothes on our backs and what little we can hold in our hands.
Each displacement comes with the fear that our homes will either be destroyed or looted while we are gone. Right now, I’m sheltering in a home belonging to a friend who fled south. More than four families are sharing this space. The buildings across from us have been flattened. Turned to rubble. Every night I worry that we’re next. Entire streets, neighbourhoods and communities have been wiped from the map. The place I grew up in is unrecognisable, it is just rubble – everything has been and is being taken from us. The constant bombardment creates an atmosphere of fear, and it feels like nowhere is safe. I’ve lost my uncle, some of my family members, colleagues and friends. It’s devastating. There is no home here that hasn’t lost someone – it’s a shared tragedy across our community.
Arundhati Roy: ‘No propaganda on Earth can hide the wound that is Palestine’
‘I refuse to play the condemnation game. Let me make myself clear. I do not tell oppressed people how to resist their oppression or who their allies should be.’ “And here we are. . . more than a year into yet another genocide. The US and Israel’s unflinching and ongoing televised genocide in Gaza and now Lebanon in defence of a colonial occupation and an Apartheid state. The death toll so far, is officially 42,000, a majority of them women and children. This does not include those who died screaming under the rubble of buildings, neighbourhoods, whole cities, and those whose bodies have not yet been recovered. A recent study by Oxfam says that more children have been killed by Israel in Gaza than in the equivalent period of any other war in the last twenty years.
To assuage their collective guilt for their early years of indifference towards one genocide – the Nazi extermination of millions of European Jews – the United States and Europe have prepared the grounds for another. Like every state that has carried out ethnic cleansing and genocide in history, Zionists in Israel – who believe themselves to be “the chosen people” – began by dehumanising Palestinians before driving them off their land and murdering them. I ask you, which of us sitting in this hall would willingly submit to the indignity that Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank have been subjected to for decades? What peaceful means have the Palestinian people not tried? What compromise have they not accepted — other than the one that requires them to crawl on their knees and eat dirt? Israel is not fighting a war of self-defence. It is fighting a war of aggression. A war to occupy more territory, to strengthen its Apartheid apparatus and tighten its control on Palestinian people and the region.”
