How is a PM criticising a bank for suggesting a capital gains tax while benefiting directly from the lack of a capital gains tax anything other than class war?
The manufactured housing crisis Bishop has embarked upon by stalling public housing builds while promising to underwrite private landlords is causing economic carnage…
Public Housing Futures has produced a map of stalled and empty Kāinga Ora sites throughout the motu, showing thousands of half-finished or bare land where work has stopped, despite close to 100,000 people being registered as homeless
…isn’t it great that the PM is ‘rich and sorted’ while his privatisation agenda pushes more homeless onto the streets?
This is the Government YOU voted for NZ.
This crass obscenity is all on you because you were angry at Jacinda for having the temerity to save 20 000 lives during a once in a century pandemic.
Take a long hard look at yourself fellow kiwi, you had your anger and fear manipulated by the Right.
You made your bed, now lay in it with Christopher Fricken’ Luxon.
‘I’m wealthy and I’m sorted’.

Tanking the economy – the design and construction sector is pretty much closed, not expecting a shift for 18 months as the pipeline is dry
Yes …all true… National and the Coalition of Chaos have managed to utterly tank the economy in 10 months.
I was in the building industry for 40 years and am glad to be out of it…it was absolutely humming until National et al and their ill thought through policies tanked it in double quick time.
I paid a visit to one of the largest pre-nail framing and truss manufacturers in the country last week to see some old friends….what a shock!! This place used to be absolutely buzzing … forklifts flying around everywhere, large hi ab trucks queued up being loaded to take the next house lot of timber out to where ever. …staff running from pillar to post….an absolute hive of activity..
And now….dead….as dead as dead can be.
The trucks and forklifts are parked up …dormant….staff in the office are twiddling their thumbs and the yard guys are wandering around looking for things to do.
I spoke to the sole remaining sales rep who has been in the game 35 years and i have known for a long time . He said it’s the worst that he has ever seen it…way worse than 2009.
He said it’s like a switch was flicked. I said it was…it was the last election!
My son is a roofer and is now just doing repairs when they used to be hard out doing new roofs .Not looking good for his future .
Nats have lived up to their election promise of getting the country BACK ON TRACK ,To the bottom of the cliff .Remember how KEY used to say the ALL BLACKS were wining because national were in power and he was the PM .What would he say now none of our sports teams are wining much .
Now we are going to under write all of the new houses John and Max Key build with there king pin brothel owners .Talk about nepatisim ,no wonder Keys former employer wants a CGTax .
Se why Luxon is selling up all his houses .He is changing the law so he can build new ones and get the government to prop him up incase he cant sell them .Looks like a bit of insider trading to me .
Insider trading …That is exactly what Luxon has indulged in!
Waited until his government changed the property ‘investment’ laws, that now benefit house flippers, and then, and only then, did he sell his investment properties, thus avoiding paying a capital gains tax! …But hey…he’s ‘entitled’!!
I am always surprised when people like you judge a move made in the running g of the country is done to make them more money.
If it was just money Luxon and Key wanted they could have stayed in their previous rolls where they were earning millions. They changed roles for their own egos and the belief they could make a difference and leave a mark in history . Being richer is not their aim.
You are very naive about what motivates people, if they had enough money they wouldn’t need to work and Key’s actions since resigning show that he still wants more. The good book tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil which is fully evident in the actions of those men.
Those personality types just can’t resist an opportunity whenever it presents…legal or not..
Note ..Key is currently up on dodgy dealing charges in the U.S….obviously trying to make more money…why would you bother if you were rich…why?… couldn’t resist an opportunity going begging.
Did not know this, Grant. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. Have just caught up on google.
Well, well, well, why am I not surprised?
Why did Luxon claim the $ 8,500 clean car discount subsidy when he bought a Tesla when he had opposed it at every opportunity …and then to try and worm out of his dodgy dealings make up some weak excuse about it being his
wife’s.
Why would he do that when he has now stated that he was rich and sorted.
Why…because he’s a greedy fucker who just cannot resist
a money making opportunity when it arises…legal or not…nothing to do with already being rich
His parents were high school drop outs, and he’ll be compensating for the rest of his questionable life. Enough is never enough, it’s psychological.
Yes he is a psychopath.
Hello Trev. They have so much that they don’t care for more? Now they are just playing a game to win, like Monopoly – is that it? How do you know you drongo – are you One Of Them?
And…if money at every opportunity doesn’t matter to Clusterfuxon why did he try and scam $52,000 a year for his apartment in Wellington when it’s been revealed that Premier House was perfectly okay to live in…
And even if he found that it wasn’t good enough for him,( because remember…he’s told us he’s entitled), and necessary for us to spend another $ 175,000 of the hardworking taxpayers of N.Z’s money on re
carpeting, curtains, paint ,wallpaper etc apparently he could have comfortably lived there, due to the size of the place, while that work was being carried out!
You said it. ‘They changed rolls for their EGOS’ and to get KNIGHTHOODS.
Whether they changed rolls to make a positive difference for ordinary NZders is very debatable.
I don’t know what Key’s previous roll was but running a very small airline badly,
was Luxury’s. Selling shampoo doesn’t prepare one for that kind of technical job.
Ask them if they are still struggling with his decisions.
Key was a money trader that nearly sent one of the big merchant banks to the wall which resulted in 5k people losing their jobs ,then he came home and ran Air nz into the ground .
Gordon and Grant – real info about housing and sounds like perception about Luxon’s law re housing too. Amazingly awful to read about. Thanks for the good backgrounding.
Greywarbler….If you want more information about Luxon and when he ‘could’ have shifted into Premier House as opposed to to when he ‘chose’ to, check out ‘Newsroom’…
Every Friday they have a podcast called ‘Raw Politics’ with Laura Walters, Marc Daalder and Tim Murphy.
The latest episode was… Season Episode 22… If you go to the 7minute 30 second mark Laura Walters talks about it there.

The libertarian explains that all taxes have compliance costs. And not having tax, on CG, wealth, estate/inheritance and one on work income and spending (and user charges) is the right compliance balance

Manufactured crisis in housing, hospital builds, education, Maori Language course, polytechs gangs, etc etc.
All in the name of tax cuts and privatisation.
100% nailed it, Unc
A good read on this topic.

We have gone from a government controlling, designing and owning what was being built, namely purpose built public housing, and homes at the lower end of the market.
To a government now using the taxpayer to backstop whatever the developers wish to build, wherever and however. Du Val collapsed in time, otherwise under this new government agenda the taxpayers would be the ones on the hook for Kenyon Clarke and his wifes private jetsetting lifestyle.
With Act and Co trying to lower, or even eliminate consenting who knows what rubbish will be put out on the market, and the taxpayer will be on the hook if it doesn’t sell.
yes a very scary position with huge houses for well off folk being under written by the government while the rest will need to que for a carboard box at the warehouse
Lying “Christian” Fuxon
Get elected at any cost.
Screw those who aren’t “rich” or “sorted” – I’m alright, Jack.
What an absolute wanker.
