Banned by Stuff! – revealing the advertisement Stuff doesn’t want you to see

Yesterday Stuff told us they would not print this full-page advertisement which had been booked and paid to go in all Stuff newspapers next Tuesday.

At this stage Stuff has given no official reason for banning the add aside from saying they won’t do so “while the ongoing conflict is developing”

It seems that for Stuff, pro-Israel sympathies are more important that Palestinian realities.

It’s worth pointing out that Stuff has, over many years, printed full page advertisements from a Christian Zionist, Paster Nigel Woodley, from Hastings. Woodley’s advertisements have been full of the most egregious, fanciful, misinformation and anti-Palestinian racism.

Our advertisement on the other hand is 100% factual and speaks truth to power – demanding our government hold Israel to account for its war crimes and 76-years of brutal military occupation of Palestine.

We’d like the public to judge our advertisement – it is pasted above.

  1. The rats at Stuff are far more complicit in genocide than Julius Streicher was. Their punishment awaits.

  2. Well, occasionally this government mouthpiece will dally in the truth, but c’mon man, you can’t bombard them with the truth, this is not what they are about. Who knows, may be a tincy, tincy version of the truth will be accepted?

Heck I wasn’t even aware Israel had a president! So much is going on, so much is missed. Fantastic looking ad/flyer – very, very letterbox worthy!!

    • Rightie, Leftie, doesn’t matter when it comes to mainstream media. Their job is to serve the interests of the powerful while still finding time, and resources, to pander to the Left or the Right depending on whatever outcome best serves the powerful.

      • Except you’ve always associated we Righties with those “powerful owners”, which leaves you at a loss to explain why we want them their MSM to die.

      • No…righties and lefties are just people purposely divided by the powerful, thus it pays for the people to be united when it comes to critiquing, and more, the core pillars of power – their political puppets and their mainstream media machine.

    • Gaby. Stuff are far from sensible. They are trite immature propagandists pushing their own idiosyncratic agendas IMO, twisting narratives, and generally averse to factual news reporting. However “ genocide” is a misnomer here. One would not refer to the blitz bombings of Dresden, Berlin, or London as genocide, nor the obliteration of Hiroshima or Nagasaki, and neither should this be. But whether Stuff declined on linguistic grounds is a moot point when their headless chookery is read mainly by an ever declining circle of people who have to read it for work purposes, and there is little evidence that their hacks have any mastery of the English language.

  3. I guess the Free Speech Union will be writing about this egregious suppression of paid free speech.

What does accountant at the nearly bankrupt Stuff think of this rejection of revenue.

Is it an editorial decision or political pressure or has the ad sales manager come under pressure from other advertisers?

Will Stuff report on this story?

  4. The ICJ found it plausible that Israel’s acts could amount to genocide and issued six provisional measures, ordering Israel to take all measures within its power to prevent genocidal acts, including preventing and punishing incitement to genocide, ensuring aid and services reach Palestinians under siege in Gaza, and preserving evidence of crimes committed in Gaza.

  5. So what is Stuffs target audience supposed to be these days anyway? I’d rather read the box toothpaste comes in.

    • Urinalbushrat Stuff’s target audience is everyone who doesn’t call New Zealand “ Aotearoa”, and make them. That’s about it really.

  6. Yet Stuff still wonder why people refuse to pay for their biased edited news network? I used to pay for a daily copy of The Press (and NZH when I worked in Auckland) for about 35 years but their lack of integrity has killed any loyalty I felt towards them, mind you it took their ignorance of flying a helicopter over my friends wedding to finally cancel my subscription.

  7. Only thing stuff understands is money. Boycott businesses that advertise with them. Make it clear on social media.

  8. A newspaper is a business. People don’t have a right to treat it as a printing press. Not hard to understand really.
