“Former MP for Napier, Stuart Nash celebrated the Israeli pager and walkie talkie terror attack in Lebanon. Stuart Nash approached participants from Saturdays flag waving gathering on the and was congratulatory of Israel’s indiscriminate blowing up of pagers which killed and wounded children, emergency services personnel and thousands of other people in Lebanon,” said Liz Jones.
“Every Saturday from 11:30am until 1:30pm this year, our group (Palestine Solidarity Napier) has stood in solidarity with the people of Palestine in both Gaza and the occupied West Bank who are facing genocide and ethnic cleansing by the US-UK backed State of Israel,” said Liz Jones.
“Stuart Nash has chosen to stand on the wrong side of history and with a tiny fringe of people we have negative encounters with, and opposed to the mass support we receive” said Liz Jones.
“We will continue to stand in solidarity with Palestine, until there is justice for Palestine,” added Liz Jones.

  1. Yeah – these protestors are the people who write anti-semitic comments on our footpaths and seawalls. While I will always defend the right to protest, I find some of the comments graffitied on public places in our beautiful city highly objectionable and disgusting. The reason given by the protestors for writing such comments is so they can ‘educate people’. Utter rubbish. How do racist comments ‘educate people’?
    They don’t!
These protestors conveniently forget the fact that it was actually Hamas that started this! Anyway, my views have been very clearly articulated by Kamala Harris:
“I will always stand up for Israel’s right to defend itself. And I will always ensure Israel has the ability to defend itself, because the people of Israel must never again face the horror that a terrorist organization called Hamas caused on October 7, including unspeakable sexual violence and the massacre of young people at a music festival.
At the same time, what has happened in Gaza over the past 10 months is devastating. So many innocent lives lost, desperate, hungry people fleeing for safety over and over again. The scale of suffering is heartbreaking. President Biden and I are working to end this war such that Israel is secure, the hostages are released, the suffering in Gaza ends, and the Palestinian people can realize their right to dignity, security, freedom, and self-determination”.
As for Liz Jones using the words ‘genocide’ and ‘ethnic cleansing’: unbelievable and totally unacceptable use of these terms. The Daily blog should be ashamed of itself for allowing such inflammatory and clearly misunderstood descriptors to be published under its banner.

    • Absolutely correct Stuart. These people ought to be ashamed of themselves for their ignorance, arrogance, and for their antisemitism and blatant hatred of Israel. As for her blog comments that you are on “the wrong side of history”; don’t worry Stuart, you are on the right side of truth!
