The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog, 3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.
All in all, TDB gives punters a very, very, very wide space to comment in but we won’t bother with out right lies or gleeful malice. We leave that to the Herald comment section.
EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist abuse, homophobic abuse, racist abuse, anti-muslim abuse, transphobic abuse, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

To keep our heads above the daily sludge of our human political and other systems! Think, remember, rejoice in each other and our world – we and it can be so good.

The Miracle – It’s a miracle…
[Verse 1: Freddie Mercury]
Every drop of rain that falls in Sahara Desert says it all
It’s a miracle
All God’s creations great and small
The Golden Gate and the Taj Mahal, that’s a miracle
Test tube babies bein’ born
Mothers, fathers dead and gone
It’s a miracle
We’re having a miracle on earth
Mother Nature does it all for us
The wonders of this world go on
The hangin’ Gardens of Babylon
Captain Cook and Cain and Abel
Jimi Hendrix to the Tower of Babel
It’s a miracle, it’s a miracle
It’s a miracle, it’s a miracle
The one thing we’re all waitin’ for
Is peace on earth
An end to war
It’s a miracle we need
The miracle
The miracle we’re all waitin’ for today
If every leaf on every tree
Could tell a story that would be
A miracle
If every child on every street
Had clothes to wear and food to eat
That’s a miracle
If all God’s people could be free
To live in perfect harmony, it’s a miracle
We’re havin’ a miracle on earth
Mother Nature does it all for us
(The wonders of this world go on)
Open hearts and surgery
Sunday mornings with a cup of tea
Superpowers always fightin’
Mona Lisa just keeps on smilin’
[Instrumental Break: Freddie Mercury, Brian May & Roger Taylor & Freddie Mercury]
(The wonders of this world go on)
It’s a miracle, it’s a miracle
It’s a miracle, it’s a miracle
The one thing (The one thing)
We’re all waiting for (We’re all waiting for)
Is peace on earth (Peace on earth)
And an end to war (End to war)
It’s a miracle we need
The miracle
The miracle!
Peace on earth and end to war, today
[Outro: Freddie Mercury]
That time will come, one day you’ll see
When we can all be friends
That time will come, one day you’ll see
When we can all be friends…
That time will come, one day you’ll see
When we can all be friends
The next song on my ‘tape’ is I’m Going Slightly Mad!
I’m one card short of a full deck
I’m not quite the shilling
One wave short of a shipwreck
I’m not at my usual top billing
I’m coming down with a fever
I’m really out to sea
This kettle is boiling over
I think I’m a banana tree
Oh, dear…
We all are but perhaps we can save the situation – better, together, with personal change and effort with practicality and kindness, in that order! Otherwise our end is written in the stars?

The South Island is going to have to wrest money and action from gummint and agincees to get a reliable land passage throughout the whole SI. Arthurs Pass was closed by 30cm snowfall recently, now heavy rain and rockfall. A Nelson medical person going to a job at the hospital and doing first a bit of sightseeing was killed with another when caught travelling north to work by a sudden weather emergency which left their van overturned and them both dead. One example of how it can be and will be.
The train line lies along the vulnerable coastline. We need to try to have viable routes at least two, so if one is down the other can be negotiated.
However people with confused brains can’t make practical decisions. When wavering between money and patronage for me and my Party and what the situation requires for remedy and reliability, the choice can not be made using best practice.

Aug.23/24
American company Space Scout has announced a deal to fly out of *Kaitorete Spit in Canterbury.
The Tāwhaki National Aerospace Centre has been struggling with early efforts to attract customers, and documents show the government – unhappy at the lack of international customers – had refused the agency’s proposal for more funding.
In a deal announced overnight, Virginia firm Space Scout said it would put its satellite-spotting cameras on the unpiloted high-flying plane being developed by local firm Dawn Aerospace.
The first of several test flights is set for November from Kaitorete’s new 1km-long, taxpayer-funded runway.
Dawn’s Aurora plane was set to go much higher – and into more useful territory for Scout – next year, Dawn’s chief executive Stefan Powell said.,,
Kaitorete ois supposedly affected by co-governance oversight and Ngai Tahu.

Ecology
The barrier is of considerable ecological significance and is home to the majority of the surviving specimens of shrubby tororaro (Muehlenbeckia astonii) – a nationally endangered endemic plant. The Kaitorete Spit dune habitat also contains a distinctive moth fauna with naturally rare species.[2] Several species of moth are endemic to Kaitorete Spit including Kiwaia jeanae, Scythris niphozela and Kupea electilis.[2]
Rocketry
In July 2015, aerospace company Rocket Lab announced that it would use Kaitorete Spit as their New Zealand satellite launch site. When the resource consent allowed them only twelve rocket launches per year the company went to Māhia Peninsula in the North Island instead.[3] Kaitorete Spit had previously, in the 1960s, been used by NASA for rocket launches…
Excited developers – this time of rockets not buildings – acquiring more of our land for exciting new projects that will appeal to the USA military. NZ as a rocket base means that we won’t end up like the Marshall Islands; there are so many tauiwi who want to come here, bored or having stuffed up their home areas. I see us as similar to New Caledonia – they have French overlords and we will have probably USA ones, with Australia providing a restraining arm.

…”It’s fantastic, it’s perfectly positioned right next to the ocean, close to Christchurch where we’re based … It’s forward thinking on how to attract other [aerospace] businesses to New Zealand and we’re very excited to use that facility.”
Powell urged the government to continue the momentum.
“I would love to see the New Zealand Space Agency be able to follow in the European Space Agency and NASA’s lead and keep increasing [its involvement].”
The next step for Mk-II Aurora was three-month flight testing campaign from now until September, with the aim of reaching supersonic speeds and two flights per day, he said.
Rocket site right close to Christchurch – how convenient for city citizens. This connected with Kiwibank? I thought houses in NZ/AO might be their major ‘interest’ not firing money into space. Yes it’s really exciting news – gets my blood corpussels (sic) moving in my noddle.

Barrett also took issue with telephone calls being called “appointments” with sanctions attached for missing them.
“They’re just assuming that because we’re unemployed, we’re going to be available all the time. Meanwhile, I’m busy looking after kids. I might be in hospital, I might be under general anaesthetic, I might be travelling for medical appointments, I might just be on the toilet.
And so I miss a phone call that they never told me I had, and so then they put in the system that I have in quote marks, missed an appointment, or I’m not turning up to my appointments.”
Barrett, who lived on $125 a week after their $580 rent was deducted, said if sanctions were applied in those circumstances it would push people over the edge.
“So I get a total of $125 a week to spend on travel, groceries for me and my three children, medical expenses, car insurance. It’s hard. It’s really hard.”
This unreason is not new but has become ingrained like dirt under toenails. That’s why this sort of officialdom are called ‘toerags’. (Ireland, slang, derogatory) An obnoxious or insignificant person.) Reading the requirements, it seems that the bennies are being treated like naughty children.
