To appreciate where the real power is in America, look at the things Republicans and Democrats agree on…
The big picture: Harris, whose 28-day-old campaign is playing catch-up on the economy, has been accused of flip-flopping on past positions, distancing herself from President Biden and — in some cases — outright pandering.
-
- But some elements of her agenda simply reflect the realignment of partisan politics — and an American electorate that has found common ground on some big issues:
1. Inflation: Harris is making a concerted effort to shake off Biden’s economic baggage, beginning with a blunt acknowledgment yesterday that costs have surged for food, gas and housing.
-
- “We couldn’t have said it better ourselves,” Trump campaign tweeted alongside a supercut of Harris rattling off the various ways high prices are affecting American families.
2. Border security: Keenly aware of Trump’s polling advantage on immigration, Harris released an ad last week vowing to “hire thousands more border agents and crack down on fentanyl and human trafficking.”
-
- It’s still a far cry from Trump’s pledge to carry out mass deportations. But Democrats’ positioning on the border has shifted radically over the last four years.
3. No tax on tips: The same day she was endorsed by Nevada’s powerful Culinary Union, Harris promised to eliminate taxes on tips — enraging Trump, who had made a similar pledge two months earlier.
4. No fracking ban: Harris has maintained “strategic ambiguity” on hot-button energy issues, but no longer favors a ban on fracking on federal lands — a prerequisite to winning Pennsylvania, the most important swing state.
5. Deficits don’t matter: Left unsaid in both Harris and Trump’s economic plans is how they will pay for them — a signature characteristic of populism that reflects how both parties treat the deficit while in power.
…the cost of living crisis caused by global supply chain realignments that are now importing inflation into every Western country is burning everyone everywhere.
For the first time in decades, Americans are against immigration because of the huge wave of migrants fleeing collapsing South American countries who are failing because of previous Western exploitation and extreme weather events, so this cultural fear of being swamped is political now.
No tax on tips is a huge acknowledgement that 135million Americans live in poverty.
Fracking is here to stay to ensure American supply is solid and can’t be spooked by geopolitical shocks.
The American deficit will continue to grow as part of the American Exceptionalism and a belief that the BRICs will never be in a position to challenge American Hegemony.
In short: Realigning global supply chains that are importing inflation + Crumbs for the peasants + fear of South American collapse + acknowledgement of American poverty + ongoing pollution of water table for oil speculation + a faith in America being able to run up a $35Trillion deficit with no fear of collapse ever.
Sounds like all the ingredients for a spectacular collapse.

Commerce naturally uses the best and cheapest resources available. Eventually, perhaps now, the cost of resource use must cost more. Inflation is inevitable. Get used to it. The inflation will not be uniform.
The problem Harris has is trust. She’s been in the White House for 4 years and that administration has done just the opposite of what she says she now proposing. So, does she mean it, or is she just bullshitting her way into the Oval Office?
It’s obvious she is just a glove puppet working for the people putting her there (she can hardly produce a cogent sentence on her own when interviewed) so the better question is to ask what they want. If they’re the same people who put Biden into office (another glove puppet) you’re going to get more of the same: Wokeness, inflation, DEI, incompetence in foreign affairs so more wars.
