The hypocrisy of Luxon demanding bipartisanship on infrastructure

This unbelievable sanctimonious prick…

Luxon seeks Australian help to make progress on critical infrastructure

New Zealand needed to be able to open up to private funding for the work, Luxon said.

“Some of the regulatory settings here in New South Wales enable infrastructure to be built in a much quicker, lower cost, faster way of working and also make it more attractive for investors.”

The New Zealand government was intent on establishing good governance for the projects and a meeting with Infrastructure New South Wales this morning had been useful for shedding light on “good mechanisms” for this.

The management of private finance within public projects had also been on the agenda.

He said mechanisms could be put in place with the agreement of other political parties so that projects could continue smoothly even if there was a change of government.

Luxon added that the politics needed to be taken out of infrastructure.

“That’s the way in which we get a long-term pipeline of projects well defined.”

…un-fucking believable!

Luxon is comparing that political parties chop and change the infrastructure projects WHEN THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS SANCTIMONIOUS PRICK DID THE SECOND HE GOT INTO POWER!!!!

  • The Ferry deal!
  • The Light Rail Deal!
  • Killing the petrol tax that funds these projects!

On the one hand he says Government’s chopping and changing the infrastructure projects are the problem WITHOUT EVEN FLINCHING that he did exactly that 10 months ago when he won power!

The total lack of awareness he is displaying is just jaw dropping and Kiwis are dumb enough to nod their heads in agreement without even being aware what it is they are nodding in agreement to.

How did we get to be this dumb in barely a year of this hard right, racist, Disabled Abusing, Beneficiary Bashing, Climate Denying Government?

  1. Luxon was spouting this shit while standing out side a major rail project that was 2 times over budget and five years behind on delivery ,WTF .That project was costed at $12 billion and is now at $25 billion and is not finished and he bitches about the one in Auckland costing 5 billion .The caned Auckland light rail was costed at way less than the one he visited but he decided we could not afford it ,yet her he is spouting on about how great a project it is .He says we will need the AUS companies to come in and build our projects because we dont have the people to do them .Well i wonder why that is and where have all the people we had on our recent projects all gone ? Aus of cause .What he should have said was can we have our people back as we need them now but they will need to work for the minimum wage and live on the job because we are not going to build houses in NZ any more because it might lower the price I can get for my 7 houses .What a cock the bald headed gang leader is

  2. Change nodding for voting and we have an apt description of the last election …

“The total lack of awareness he is displaying is just jaw dropping and Kiwis are dumb enough to nod their heads in agreement without even being aware what it is they are nodding in agreement to.”

The total lack of awareness the voting public is displaying is just jaw dropping and Kiwis are dumb enough to vote in agreement without even being aware what it is they are voting in agreement to.

    • the bald headed gang leader will have one of those nodding dolls ,with its hair shaved off ,sitting on the dash of his government limo .National will get Anna Mowbray and her bro to make 100k of them to sell at local markets and to give away to school kids every time the bald prick visits a school .

  3. We’ve always been that dumb. The trick has been we have also been lying to ourselves for all that time that we are egalitarian plucky strugglers, a lie deliberately perpetuated by the vampire class of monopolists oligopolists and banksters and their propertied collaborators who just farm us for money.

  4. Spoke to an elderly lady yesterday who said she cant wait for the next generation of voters to start voting .She works in dental health in schools and hears the kids saying they will not be voting blue or red as blindly as there parents and grand parents have over the generations .Cant wait for them to get the vote and kick this shit to the curb .As I said to her what is stopping us making the same change ? the answer was ,tribalism and mostly can kicking .

  5. You forgot the Lake Onslow hydro project which would have provided long term energy security and created thousands of new construction and civil engineering jobs for New Zealanders. Never mind.
You forgot Kainga Ora building 5000 new homes a year. Halted – hundreds of NZ builders out of work. Never mind. You also forgot all of the school and hospital upgrades and builds that have been cancelled. Hundreds more builders out of work.

    • This government don’t give a flying f$%k about workers – that much is clear. Workers should let them know this is not okay at the polls.

      • Actually Bob the workers should show them by all fucking off to AUS or else where .there is construction work all over the world if you hear what the head of the rail project has been saying over the last few weeks

  6. New Zealand has always needed, and continues to need, other people’s money to build the infrastructure it needs.

A small country with limited internal capital, inadequate internal savings and poor productivity has few choices.

    • Note the last sentence Henry and consider the long term economic consequence of this approach.

      From https://budget.govt.nz/budget/2024/bps/fiscal-strategy-debt.htm
The Government therefore intends to put net core Crown debt on a downward trajectory. Once it is below 40 per cent of GDP, the Government intends to maintain net core Crown debt within a band of 20 to 40 per cent of GDP. Relative to the previous Government’s 50 per cent ceiling, this objective reduces the risk that future shocks could rachet up debt to a level at which severe corrective action is required.

The range of 20 to 40 per cent of GDP recognizes that pursuing very low levels of public debt can involve forgoing opportunities for productive investment.

  7. Kiwirail are a complete cluster and the ferries ordered were too big for the channels they have to sail in. That aside the port infrastructure build was the cost blowout NOT THE SHIPS!!!

    • national party owned construction companies price gouging was the problem .And as the bald prick and his school boy side kick and bumbling bishop would have learned yesterday in AUS cost blow outs are as bad there and delivery on time is worse than here .The ships were not too big as if that was the case the supplier would not have taken the order .Unlike this government ,the previous government would have taken advice and would have heeded that advice unlike bluff and bluster Luxon and Willis .

    • It’s a pity that your imagination is not as big as your ego as you might be able to write accurate comments then.

  8. Yeah, the hypocrite he does not practice what he preaches, on RNZ he talked about how easy it was for beneficiaries to meet their obligations when he can’t even meet his own as the PM of our country as he can’t even be bothered doing a bit of homework when he is introducing his parties’ new policies. When he was asked how much people receive on job seekers benefit, he had no idea, and he also made up the 4000 number of extra counsellors created to help these beneficiaries. And to make matters worse he has done this before he has a bad track record of making things up to make them appear better than they are these examples show his arrogance and ignorance and he actually does not care.

  9. Yes, one vote for all, but where was Nationals plan B, before you get rid of something so important you do your due diligence and see what’s a better way and more efficient way of it doing, not get rid of it and then panic. Baldy is talking with a fork tongue again he is not walking his own talk when it comes to obligations, he makes up shit like the number of counsellors to help beneficiaries he said they had four thousand new counsellors when it’s not true. Ingrid Hipkins caught him out on RNZ. He also talked about simple obligations yet his obligation to be across his political parties’ policies is poor and so he makes shit up when being questioned. This is why he does not like being interviewed it shows how weak and pathetic he is in too many areas.

  10. the NZ super fund could easily fund 5 new hospitals and 10 schools and lease them back to the government .All the kiwi saver funds should also invest 50% of our money in NZ .They could invest billions into water ,perhaps they could set up a water company to do all the pipe work .

  11. Cross party co-operation provided it’s my idea. At least I would trust Labour and Greens to stick to any deal they made unlike Nats did with the much vaunted agreements on Housing density and Climate change they signed up to while in opposition.
Add in UNRA and Paris Climate Accord and you have the history of a very untrustworthy bunch of liars.
Pity they haven’t got the balls to break some of the coalition agreements and go back to the electorate.
But when you have 85% against screwing the disabled and 52 councils against disestablishment of Maori Wards and 372 lawyers saying the advertisement of Don Brash and his pseudo Act Party is telling lies and many instances of legislating in spite of expert advice and the obvious will of the electorate why would you want to go to that electorate for a vote of confidence.
