Priceless…

Waka Kotahi bought new unbranded hi-viz jackets for PM, entourage for highway re-opening

Newshub can reveal Waka Kotahi bought new unbranded hi-viz jackets for the Prime Minister and his entourage to re-open State Highway 25a last year.

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says the spending sounds like a waste of money, but admitted he had no idea about the effort.

…this highlights how the minister sets the unconscious bias of the Ministry. Simeon had raged against road signs in Te Reo, so the Ministry has to buy new kit to meet the Minister’s petty bigotry.

This sort of shit is happening all over the State as each Ministry resets to the baseline political fetish each of their ignorant Ministers requires.

    • Well except that you’d need to commission an over size for a lumbering great oxen, and an under size for a boy wonder. Then of course you’d need to ensure it didn’t clash with gNatzo pastel blue. There could be hurt feelings if you tried to dress them up in something that didn’t look thoroughly gorjiss. The hard hats are a lot easier – all one size to suit the bigliest, tremendous heads.

  1. I watched the am show where they repeatedly grilled Luxon over the $304 which absolutely no one gives a shit about including Luxon.
I then recalled the same agency spending $340 000 dollars opening a highway under the previous government and zero grilling of Ardern.

The media barking at every parked car with this government just shows how missing in action they were for 6 years.
Asking a prime minister about a department he isn’t minister for, spending $300??
    Really??

  2. “Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says the spending sounds like a waste of money, but admitted he had no idea about the effort.”

So he isn’t doing enough to justify the cost? Sounds like what he claims of the unemployed on jobseekers allowance. Who’d have thought he was just blaming someone else for his laziness. Peanuts when he does it, world ends when someone needs $20 to pay the rent. The man has nothing to offer.
