Rat Countdown – how come Supermarket Duopoly can serve us vermin infested food?

More rats found, Countdown to remain closed

After two more rats were caught in the store today, Countdown Dunedin South has confirmed it will not reopen its store until at least Thursday.

By then it will have been six days straight the store will have been closed.

In total, 23 rats have been caught at the store since February 5.

Woolworths New Zealand director of stores Jason Stockill said today the Countdown at 323 Andersons Bay Rd, South Dunedin, would remain closed until 48 hours had passed without a rat caught inside. 

The news of the latest captures at the South Dunedin supermarket comes on the same day the company was told the Ministry for Primary Industries (MPI) would launch an independent review of the company’s pest-management nationwide.

How come Supermarket Duopoly can serve us vermin infested food?

For an industry with such price gouging tactics and mass surveillance tendencies to now be rat infested seems a tad on the nose doesn’t it?

How come they are allowed to have vermin infested stores?

With such outrageous abuse of market dominance, why are they allowed such leniency when vermin infestation is outed?

I fucking hate you.

I hate your market dominance.

I hate your duopoly molestation of capitalism.

I hate your specials that are never special.

I just expect to get screwed over by you.

Like a toxic Ex.

I hate your bullshit new loyalty card.

Why would  I allow you onto my phone?

I never liked you being in my wallet!

I’m not signing up to your shitty loyalty spy-ware.

I will continue to loath you as you keep trying to tempt me with lower prices available only on your spy-ware app.

I will continue to refuse and make some middle management market interaction analyst fret.

I hate you Countdown.

PS – Changing your name to Woolworths won’t make me loath you less.
