Announce protest actions, general chit chat or give your opinion on issues we haven’t covered for the day.

The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog,  3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.

EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world  and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

  1. Along the serendipity path to our future – today in the news:

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/502065/one-in-three-will-die-from-heart-disease-specialists-call-for-national-action-plan – (When and from what do you choose to die?)

RNZ Bill Hickman making hay from misrepresenting a gun control situation.

(People know that fake guns can be as hard to face as real ones when they are held up to victims of some crime. People who like to have realistic ones for lighting their cigars or whatever are obvious cases of ‘slightly loony’ therefore needing wariness from authorities.)

(Ooh after extensive, expensive consultations and scoping we see points that we have not properly weighted in our considerations!)

Finally – thought for the day? We humans aren’t interested in an observable reality; no, give us illusions, pretensions, obsessions – in other words, words that end in ‘ion’ carry the most weight or ions – like confusion. Wikipedia may help – donate please, they are a beacon through the ionised atmosphere. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ion

  2. Imaginative and good for our mutual co-operation.

The Pounamu Pathway will consist of four interconnected experience centres — Māwhera (Greymouth), Awarua (Haast), Kawatiri (Westport) and Hokitika — each serving as a gateway to captivating and emotive visitor experiences.

Visitors will encounter the sheer grandeur of the 2.4:1 scale hyper-realistic figure of Tūhuru, at the Māwhera centre, set to open in December 2023.

The breathtaking representation of the early West Coast chief has evolved from a unique collaboration between Poutini Ngāi Tahu and Wētā Workshop. Uri (descendants) of Tūhuru have been pivotal in the creation of the intricately detailed sculpture, from designing the tā moko (traditional tattoo) to crafting the accessories including the pounamu hei tiki (pendant worn around the neck), mere (weapon) and kāpeu (earring).

  3. This GST is a corrupting taxation system which only applies when times are good. When times are bad and we are in an inflation, savage competition for business from overseas interests bubble, me having to pay $40 GST for servicing my car is an imposition on me. It’s right to get it serviced and in good nick. It is wrong for the government to have its hand out. After all it doesn’t make a good job of servicing the country and citizens so why put its hand out for pocket money. Sternly I say, you have to do your chores first, we don’t want careless, easy-rider types around here.

  4. A good guy and practical – hands-on. Citizens do, politicians do not.

The area had suffered a severe blow nearly 50 years ago when a north-westerly gale wreaked havoc on the podocarp forest, leaving behind a landscape in need of healing.

Undeterred by the sceptics who claimed the damage caused by rabbits would prevent trees from regrowing, Fraser embarked on a journey to rejuvenate the land.
“I was told initially I’d never get trees to grow here because of the damage caused by rabbits, and that proved to be the case.

“But you just don’t walk away; you find a solution to that,” reflects Fraser.
And find a solution, he did.
Determined to overcome the challenges, Fraser and those around him became pioneers in using tree guards around individual trees.

  5. More public- private partnerships?
New ways to bleed NZ while holding business out as a saviour and necessary. Doing what we can borrow money at low rates through government and building the infrastructure that we really need ourselves, with imported aspects as needed. Like we used to.

Where there are the words ‘Sisters are doing it for themselves’ replace with ‘Kiwis’
and belt it out like Aretha Franklin.
