The Greens and NZF held their conferences over the weekend and the most telling part was not the policy announcements or even NZFirst’s Hobson Pledge fanatics and AntiVax Dr candidates, it was the turn out.
The Greens in Wellington could barely get 100 people to their conference, NZ First in Auckland had over 500 and had to move rooms to accomodate everyone.
Watching the Greens try and explain how they’ve failed at gaining anything meaningful for their vacant Ministerial baubles would be funny if the planet wasn’t melting.
NZFirst’s descent into anti-science quackery and Hobson Pledge anti-Māori sludge is their final last gasp at political relevance and it could well see them cross the 5% threshold.
NZ First has momentum, the Greens do not and it’s apparent on the conference floors.
Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

If more than 5% of voters believe that we should not have been forced to be vaccinated during covid and/or that our best way forward as a country is to act as ‘one people’ then they get a voice in Parliament as they should. I find their beliefs no more disturbing or crazy than a lot of which is coming out of TPM, the Greens and Act.
It’s all very boring stuff though. There is a huge economic crisis, another global financial crash brewing, the highest chance of WWIII breaking out in sixty years (and the highest risk of nuclear war in history) — and Winston has no answers to any of it.
If he ran a proper populist campaign, he might be speaking to a Trump-style rally of 20,000+, not 500.
The Greens seem to be in deep trouble. Maybe corporate donations will keep them alive, but surely some of their leaders are close to being sacked.
So more than 90% getting vaccinated isn’t acting as “one people”? I get that is separate from actually having a mandate but there are some who completely over blow the unity, or supposed lack of, piece for good press/politics. It’s like being told I “don’t feel safe”. I don’t feel any less safe than I did before, and last week’s episode in downtown Auckland was gobsmacking in terms of people acting like violence is something new in this country.
If you think that everyone who got vaccinated, wanted to be vaccinated as opposed to going along with it because of pressure from government or employers- much less be vaccinated with the Albert Bourla hot-shot- you have another think coming.
Oh its going to be delicious watching smirks wiped from faces.
Lets face it, is is now an embarrassment to be a Green Party member. How can a greenie support such a self absorbed group of people who squandered the opportunity to do something meaningful for the planet and NZ society. Everything has gone backwards, including the things they concentrated on.
When you cancel “white” people, men, boys, biological females, and create your own little woke language, aka cis-gender, you ain’t got much real, left to advocate for.
Good to know that Labour and Greens kept their promise and are creating all these affordable, inner city, apartment housing like 115m2 for only $3.3 million dollars. So affordable. https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/property/new-homes/new-apartment/auckland/auckland-city/grey-lynn/listing/3980124193 Sarcasm.
Oh look, another lovely new build development from Fletchers in Manurewa at affordable prices!! https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/property/new-homes/new-house/auckland/manukau-city/manurewa/listing/4210864998
It was worth getting rid of community planning and zoning and bringing in hundreds of thousands of migrant workers on low or no wages for all these affordable new build houses. Still the government believe the answer is borrow more so that more migrants can come to build more ‘affordable’ new builds.
Lets have a look at apartment affordability of old builds in city centre. A fraction of the price. If Government wanted to create affordable housing, it seems to be already existing.

Winston is still a tory through and through. He wrecked his career yet again, when he could have retired with some dignity, when he prepared that intemperate letter to the Governor General in 2020 to withdraw confidence in his MMP Coalition Partner. That finished the old fucker off in many eyes.
What I would grant NZ First though is the Provincial Growth Fund that they pushed through despite Labour resistance. PGF has achieved many micro economic positive results in the Far North that’s for sure. But, it is bye bye for Mr Peters this year for all money–unless he is a TDB fan and takes Bombers advice.
You are delusional.. Winston Peters and NZF will knock off 10% plus on the night…
You know there’s a lot of
People out there who don’t want this bs gender and sex and puberty blockers crap rammed down our kids throats…
