Firefighters need stab-proof vests before they can go to emergency housing. Don’t get vests and won’t take the risk of angry thrusts or whatever from sad and angry citizens. Waka Kotahi should be spending money on keeping main roads ope, and planning new routes. Someone said that they are not ensuring proper basecourse either – don’t know. .
But like the little administrative fusspot that seems to be the model for these agencies and administrators – down here they are worrying about weeds on the roads and stopping citizens having any input, because It’s Their Business not ours.
Also they are worrying about town routes, chopping trees in main street Motueka. This while Takaka was cut off or very limited for access for yonks over Marble Mountain. I want the whole administration changed to central being watchdogs for excess spending and advisor on methods etc. The local work to be done by local areas as prioritised by them.
Waka can keep the main roads open for trucks carrying local business etc. Let someone else control speed limits. When they get enough fingers in the deal, someone slam the door on them. That’s how citizens are beginning to feel about this particular agency and whoever its czar is. Roll on the bolsheviks. Goggle or someone will probably note this!

The meat rendering business takes waste products from abattoirs and breaks down the animal tissues into fat and proteins using heat or pressure. Tallow and meat and bone meal are two products generated from this process. Tallow and meat and bone meal are often used in animal feeds, fertiliser or as renewable energy sources.
Exports are highly regulated and manufacturers must adhere to MPI-approved plans detailing the types of animals being processed and all inputs into a final product. Export certificates must also specify the exact ingredients in each product.
The companies face a raft of charges including knowingly mixing unapproved ingredients, such as used cooking oil or chicken fat, into its products to improve the quality; and falsifying or applying misleading export and traceability certificates in order to sell more than 20,000 tonnes of tainted tallow and 16,400 tonnes of adulterated bone meal overseas between March 2019 and August 2020 with New Zealand official assurance, when it was not eligible for such assurance.
