The great molester of American journalism has been sacked.
No one sold culture war spite quite like Tucker. He was less a journalist and more a manipulator of facts and contrarian malice.
The redacted commentary from him in the recent defamation case suggests he has said an enormous amount of damaging things regarding Fox Management and while you can lie for the Republicans, you can’t tell the truth about Fox management.
The appalling hypocrisy exposed by Carlson between what he privately knew regarding Trump’s lies and what he publicly said to his audience is a venality of journalism that degrades the entire industry.
Hosts like Tucker knowingly peddling falsehoods that undermined the very fabric of Democratic norms and fuelled an insurrection. He is not and never was a journalist.
Tucker is culpable for the damaged debate in America that has warped politics into an existential threat against each other. Being sacked is great, but it doesn’t punish the Network who enabled him.

Tucker Carlson has a huge audience and knows there is a wealth of opportunity, more freedom and more reach outside the legacy media. A Joe Rogan type podcast coming up perhaps?
I think Hannity must be close to being in the same situation as Carlson. Ok he didn’t say he hated Trump but didn’t also admit he didn’t believe the made up voting issue as well (as he sat and told all those dumb arses it was true)
Let’s see how this plays out. I think it’s more likely that Tucker will pivot from this towards a new media platform like The Daily Show or The Blaze reaching even more people without the albeit light moderating editorial influence Fox will have had. He will also be a martyr to his base. In other words everything the left in the US don’t want.
In some ways this looks like the death rattle of legacy cable media and with it the collapse of the sanctioned media narrative.
Whatever happens this ain’t over and Tucker will return to torment the left and challenge the establishment with heterodox opinions

Completely agree, albeit Tucker has a large personal following so could pivot to independent media, excepting any non-competition clause, and may get a huge payout from litigation.
I look forward to the identical article on narcissistic diva, centre of hubris and promotor of both misogyny and woke culture war Don Lemon. He also degraded journalism, degraded colleagues and was demoted to the morning show before being fired shortly after Tucker.
No doubt CNN took advantage of the timing so Lemon’s firing would not be the only headline news.

Good. The guy was racist, Homophobic, transphobic, mysoginostic and a religious extremist who wanted to force Christianity on the population at gunpoint. He saw Palestinians as subhuman and wanted to bring back segregation and lynching.
What Tucker spouted was hate and fear, not the way espoused by Jesus. America’s state religion is ‘christian’ nationalism that idolises militarism and gun violence. They venerate military service but the machine churns up men and damages them for life then spits them out onto the street. Obsession with flags and guns and uniforms is a crap form of virtue.
