Is this Marama’s Metiria moment?

Poor Marama, as she was trying to argue white cis males cause all the violence in the world, a Trans gun person (I’m not sure what the pronoun is for a mass shooter) opens fire and kills 6 in America.

From One to Alanis Morissette, how ironic is that?

‘Some resentment’ may have fuelled school shooter’s attack, says police chief

A heavily armed 28-year-old has fatally shot three children and three adult staffers at a private Christian school the suspect once attended in Tennessee’s capital city before police killed the assailant, authorities said.

The motive was not immediately known, but the suspect had drawn detailed maps of the school, including entry points for the building, and left behind a “manifesto” and other writings that investigators were examining, Police Chief John Drake told reporters.

Adding to the irony was the claim that Saturday was ‘Pure Trans Joy’ when many were left asking, ‘who was in danger on that day’, because it wasn’t the Trans community.

Will this identity politics meltdown hurt the Greens?

Notorious white cis male and Stuff Political Reporter Luke Malpass will be cancelled for the following…

Davidson’s comments were made at a protest opposing women’s rights activist to some, and anti-trans activist to others, Briton Kellie-Jay Keen-Minshull. They ignited a political stoush around laying the blame for domestic violence at the feet of one particular group.

Hipkins, for his part, has tried to play a straight bat on all of this. He sacked Nash within a couple of hours of hearing about the latest chapter in his loose approach to cabinet rules.

And while vigorously disagreeing with Keen-Minshull’s views, he also denounced the violence at the protest which resulted in her leaving the protest and exiting the country. National has called for a review into why police couldn’t keep the protest under control.

But Davidson’s comments – made three hours after being hit by a motorcycle – did ignite a debate that continued in the House on Wednesday. Hipkins said that she was factually incorrect but that she had apologised to him – although she hasn’t publicly to date – and wanted to move on with life.

The fact is that Hipkins needs a fair few “cis white men” to vote for him and doesn’t want to be anywhere near on the side of gross generalisations about their proclivity or otherwise for domestic violence.

He is also clearly keen to put some daylight between Labour and the Greens on these matters. Labour wants to be about bread and butter and helping families get ahead, while the Greens are off fighting culture wars of little interest to middle New Zealand.

On the Twitter left, all sorts of people are getting cross with Hipkins for not lining up with Davidson and, basically, being balanced on these issues. It may be an article of faith within certain sections of the left that white straight men and their supposed privilege are to blame for a big load of society’s ills, but that is not a view shared by the wider electorate.

Hipkins is a Labour centrist and, despite not agreeing with Keen-Minshull’s views, he defended her right to come to New Zealand, as well as free speech more generally.

David Bromwell at Stuff, (another notorious white cis male who must be cancelled) had this to say…

In a free and open society, and in accordance with international human rights law, we have a right to protection from violence and from speech that intends or is imminently likely to incite violence and acts of hostility or discrimination.

But we do not have a right to protection from disagreement, criticism, satire, offence or hurtful comments.

Of course, words can hurt, but they do not hurt in the same way or to the same extent as sticks, stones, fists, knives or guns.

Words are not weapons. Words are what we use instead of weapons, to express disagreement and assert our claims as we negotiate how to live together despite our differences, under the rule of law and without recourse to violence.

If we equate words with weapons, we risk weapons being seen as no worse than words.

…and finally ANOTHER evil white cis male, Sam Clements makes the devastating point

Those disruptive Posie Parker protesters who opposed her presence in Aotearoa, and who have been congratulating themselves over their raucous, aggressive, bullying behaviour, ought to navel gaze a little and look up the definition of hypocrisy.

Don’t preach love, tolerance and respect, then brazenly do the opposite. It’s not a one-way street. Dignity and self-control, whatever the circumstances, matters.

Issues such as gender identification, queer expression, restroom access, puberty blockers and the like are not simple ones. Pretending they are ignores the complex interplay and influence of cultural perspective, philosophy, theology, gender identification and human biology and physiology.

They’re issues with a wide range of views and opinions across the spectrum. They’ve ignited debates of all sorts of hues across cultures, countries, communities, and social strata.

I’m not a fan of this woman in the slightest. She’s coarse, rough, borderline maniacally obsessed, and often acidically offensive.

Repeatedly, for example, referring to trans women as men is inflammatory, crude and callously dismisses the deeply profound and complex psychological and endocrinologically mediated potency and realness of gender identity, and seeks to further marginalise. It was hardly necessary to openly state an underlying genetic and chromosomal reality.

Equally, spreading fears of masses of marauding men identifying as women assaulting women in their restrooms is not supported by any statistics, and is frankly barking.

But she had a right to speak. She was never going to incite harm or hate for the transgender community. The attempt to block her entry to the country was frankly embarrassing.

Instead, a hornets’ nest has been stirred online of many incensed at Parker’s treatment. What could have been a storm in a Royal Doulton posy cup has become something else entirely. It has rightly ignited debate over the protection of the right of free speech, and over Parker’s positions.

And it’s paradoxically the latter that really could be weaponised to the detriment of transgender people down the line. It risks tarring and homogenising an entire “group” with the same brush: that it’s pushy, demanding, intolerant, absolutist, and greedily detached from “reality” in its demands.

Too readily those opposed to, or who question, trans demands, are accused of “hate speech”. The term is grossly overused, often misused and loaded. It’s often employed by individuals or groups who appear blissfully ignorant of the concepts of irony, paradox, cliché, and hypocrisy.

…so is this Marama’s ‘Metiria moment’ when Metiria bravely spoke truth to power over the manner she was forced to break welfare rules, only to have the entire thing implode on her because no one had thought two steps ahead and had actually paid for the costs before she admitted the breach.

Marama’s sin here is less structural than Metiria’s, she hasn’t breached any law, but she has needlessly created an enormous stick with which the Political Right will use against us until the election.

The violence at the protest was one thing, Marama blaming white cis males for violence (when it was the trans protestors who were being violent) is another…

…this all adds up to an intense sense of hypocrisy and nothing kills Political movements like hypocrisy.

The reason why peaceful protests work is because they provide you with the moral high ground, the Left lost that on Saturday and we will all watch the next polls with trepidation.

Fingers crossed NZ didn’t notice any of this.

  1. How ironic…

The greens leader a week ago warned of the danger of violence before the election. We then saw political violence to suppress dissent.

Another greens leader tells us that straight white men cause violence. We then have the horrific school shootings in the USA. The perpetrator is of course a…. Transgender person

  2. The mask of aroha slips and reveals the hideous visage beneath.
Marama’s “indiscretion” was nothing new or unexpected or dredged up from the distant past. This is her. I think, as do many I suspect, that anyone filled with toxic resentment and hate shouldn’t be anywhere near the levers of power. Same with Waititi & Co. and regardless of the cause.

    • More proof that the out-of-touch Greens will never be able to replace the Labour Party, or any of the other major Third Way parties.

The voters of the world hardly want yet another party of chattering Wall Street liberals, especially when any such parties already existing had no real popularity in the first place.

The rising global strike wave has virtually no support from major political parties. All those current and former union members need to go somewhere, and that will inevitably be new political parties controlled by them.

  3. Let it be remembered that Posie Parker did nothing but state a few indisputable facts that the majority know to be true.
The trans militants, the media and the government particularly Marama did the rest.
The results- Having particularly long term old school lefty Greens walk, potentially drag Labour down with them and hand the election to ACT (anti woke) and National (woke lite)
If that’s what it takes to cauterize the cancer of woke dogma so be it.
Sometimes you have to destroy the village to save it.
However, like chemo there will be massive unpleasant side affects for this country.

  4. Turei was a qualified lawyer with a profession to which she could return. Davidson appears to be little more than a racist misandrist, qualified for nothing but advising commissioners about the politics of hate. She may have to stay in Parliament, or join the ranks of the deserving unemployed.

  5. 1.Media frenzy caused this to happen, they did this to keep Wellington feeding them funding they should have their funding cut

    2. lack of police force enabled the protesters to assault the women who were there to hear Parker speak .

    3. The utter hypocrisy of green mps attacking women and blaming biological males that are white for violence whilst claiming this protest was about “love”

    4. The gutless pathetic response from Hipkins not to sack Davidson as a minister and call for Swarbrick and Ghahraman to resign has shown he cannot lead a country.

The rainbow facist party aka the Nz Green Party have cemented their electoral results

  6. The Tennessee shooter who slaughtered little primary school children and the brave teacher who tried to protect them, is a graphic example of how the sex and gender ideology clumsily embraced by the Green-lead government may cause havoc in immature young hearts and minds. Thoughts and prayers for those parents whose lives will never be the same again.

    • It’s a clear example of power. A lot you sit at home mocking transhumans. I know I do it. But there’s nothing we can really do when a transhuman has a gun except call the police.

We think it’s tough to throw daggering words but it’s not. Tough is hearing bullets go off and bring shit scared but not caring and head towards the loud bangs to end a threat to life and liberty.

    • There have been 130 mass shootings in America so far this year alone Snow White Can you tell me how many are the result of sex and gender ideology clumsily embraced by the Green-lead government that may cause havoc in immature young hearts and minds. You have given one example because it was in mainstream media to attack the Greens. Pathetic.

      • Gus. Of course not, but I can suggest that it is males of all ilk who have normalised using physical violence instead of words, to address what they see as their problems. We witnessed that in Albert Park on New Zealand’s day of shame.

  7. 6 people dead, including 3 children – more love from the transgender community.

Closer to home, transgender Toko Shane Winter also tortured and murdered a teenager in NZ. Police went to scene and for what ever reason (no surprises after seeing the Speak up for woman and lack of police action there) the teenager did not seek police assistance. Inconsistency of police is becoming a big problem.

“Toko Shane Winter, 29, and Kerry Te Amo, 26, are in the High Court in Auckland this month accused of murdering the 17-year-old.

Miss Winter, a 29-year-old trans woman, has admitted kidnapping the teenager but denies the murder charge, while Mr Te Amo denies both kidnapping and murder.”

Apparently the transgender person who threw juice over the speak up for woman speaker has gone to Australia – so no police charges then.

The 70 year old lady that was punched twice at the rally doesn’t seem to have any justice as haven’t heard of any police arrests.

Meanwhile the man who punched James Shaw got a jail sentence.
    https://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/man-who-punched-green-party-co-leader-james-shaw-sent-to-prison/JSE6DD2LQ5PAUPXYDBTSA5TMQY/

Don’t forget apparently Marama also thought that microagressions from Pakeha NZ were responsible for the Tarrant terror attack and copious amounts of money were spent on that, leaving the Samsudeen the mall terrorist to knife and nearly decapitate a number of woman in an Auckland mall – under being a potential ‘protected’ person for years in NZ.

It is not tenable for someone to be in Marama’s position and be putting taxpayers resources into the wrong areas due to their bizarre beliefs that white cis men are responsible for all violence and try to change the statistics to their beliefs and ignore current violence.

Apparently the anti terror groups are looking at white woman who might be doing knitting as they could be white supremacists.

It is crazy use of resources when people are now being put in hospital daily due to the amount of violence (much of it random) that is being enabled in NZ, while all these fringe task forces are being set up to try and prove some point – that is statistically highly unlikely.

    It is crazy politics.

  8. Yes it was, except much worse because many greens sympathised with Meteria’s intentions. Many white heterosexual males will now be wondering if this is the party for them.

  9. In addition you can’t compare Metiria to Marama.

    Metira is much smarter.

It was a shame she was hounded out of the Green Party, especially when Paula Benefit was accused of the same with completely different outcome.

    • savenz. Sue Bradford, massively smart, and public protector of our children from the violence of persons much bigger and more brutish than them, was hounded out of the so-called Greens too. They have to go asap.

      • Yup pretty hard to dispute Sue Bradford is genuinely a good person with a deep caring for those less advantaged regardless of your own ‘political leanings’ . . Davidson is just a straight-out racist of very little ability.

  10. Let me see: Metiria fell because of past sins perhaps forgivable given a hard life.
Marama is a thick racist bigot who keeps reminding us of this.
    Little similarity.

Not the first transgender school shooting.

Government, police and media should not be condoning and minimising violent actions from the transgender community, – woman are 50% of the population and are already marginalised enough.

Nor should children, education, universities, health care and so forth, become pawns in this bizarre turn of events.

  12. The Police can do there own review of their response if they feel it warrants it.
It seems that Aloha is calling for a review every five minutes, with all the resources and time and expenditure that takes up, while also criticising the use of working groups and consultants and the expenditure that takes up. It is the pot calling the kettle blak.

  13. @Sam Clements, the free speech argument is important. But if Posy Parker was preaching antisemitism instead of anti trans (male to female, not female to male, meaning anti male), should her entry into NZ have been blocked then?

  14. Marama has my full support. Her comments have revealed, in the almost universal condemnation of them, the huge degree of hidden misogyny and racism that fills our country. The sheer number of white settlers who have rushed out to attack an indigenous woman for daring to speak her mind saddens me. The bile and vitriol in their commentary underlines the determination of this settler mentality to continue their subjugation of tangata whenua.
Of particular concern is the co-option and perversion of the concept of Woke. It is an example of white supremacy that people have ,successfully, sought to appropriate this concept, subvert its meaning, and use it as an axe against those to which it is an integral part of their identity.

    • Oh Please Peter H.

The Minister of violence prevention that didn’t condemn the violence towards the women at Albert Park, who when asked rabbited on about how wonderful trans people are etc etc. Give me a break.

You can keep going with your point of view, but a lot of NZders saw what happened with their own eyes. They are not stupid.

    • Hehe so funny thanks for the laugh.
Never expected to get a chuckle out of reading around this matter.

  18. No doubt the woke will blame the victims and feel sympathy for they/their gunman/woman. You know, because the kids and teachers deserved it! Sarc.

The more they enable people to violence, the more it will happen.

Western media is so woke, most MSM are not even reporting the school shootings (and none I can see in NZ) which is normally front page news. I wonder why people are turned off MSM news and no longer trust it?

Any words of sympathy and condemnation from our government with another school shooting? Haven’t heard any.

  19. “Metiria bravely spoke truth to power over the manner she was forced to break welfare rules”

Seriously? She wasn’t “forced” to do anything; she decided to defraud the taxpayer, which indicates she has low moral character and poor judgment.

    • Fidel the name, probably had some connection with truth and being righteous. Your comment shows no interest in the facts and truth of how mothers cope in trying to bring up children well in a household at a low income level. It is sad that you didn’t get personal experiences that were useful to your family’s needs when you were young. Then you would probably be realistic about the difficulties for solo mothers or fathers.

  20. Marama won’t survive for long. We all know it. Something else will come out or be said. She is now a noose around Hipkins and the lefts necks. Good!

  21. Of greater concern to me than the whote cis male comment (although I do find it deeply concerning). It the lack of condemnation from the Minister at the shocking level of threat, abuse, intimidation and violence shown towards the Let Women Speak women, including PP
