The Editor doesn’t moderate this blog, 3 volunteers do, they are very lenient to provide you a free speech space but if it’s just deranged abuse or putting words in bloggers mouths to have a pointless argument, we don’t bother publishing.
EDITORS NOTE: – By the way, here’s a list of shit that will get your comment dumped. Sexist language, homophobic language, racist language, anti-muslim hate, transphobic language, Chemtrails, 9/11 truthers, Qanon lunacy, climate deniers, anti-fluoride fanatics, anti-vaxxer lunatics, 5G conspiracy theories, the virus is a bioweapon, some weird bullshit about the UN taking over the world and ANYONE that links to fucking infowar.

RIP Georgina Beyer. I don’t know anybody who disliked this fiercely independent woman. I cried. She had more guts and courage than anybody among today’s Parliamentary self-servers.
From Baxter’s “ Autumn Testament”
……………
Your face wears the marks of age
As a warrior his moko.
Double the beauty,
A soul like the great albatross
Who only rests in mid ocean
Under the eye of Te Ra.
+100!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She remained staunch throughout
Georgina Beyer, courageous, capable, warm person. RIP.
“It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them,
more strength to relate to people than to dominate them,
more ‘manhood’ to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex.
Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind.”

I think she aimed to be above these:
“The Seven Social Sins are:
Wealth without work.
Pleasure without conscience.
Knowledge without character.
Commerce without morality.
Science without humanity.
Worship without sacrifice.
Politics without principle.
From a sermon given by Frederick Lewis Donaldson
in Westminster Abbey, London, on March 20, 1925.”

Doncha just love it!
Rob Campbell versus Steve Maharey versus ya did, oi did not, ya did, did so did not, so there.
If anything, it just shows the dysfunctional state of gummint, revolving doors and the public service.
Not to minimise Sint Ashley’s contribution, it’s amusing to see his recent tweets re left versus right, and all the shit that goes with it, in an effort to demonstrate the apolitical nature of the public service.
Love it.
25years as a public servant (congrats btw Ash), and thanks for your contribution.
Noteworthy at least however is that his career began when the cult of the neoliberal/3rd Way faith, the economic orthodoxy that been in fashion for near 40 years, and which has now proven to be munted is all he has ever experienced during his 25 year lag.
It’snot as though Saint Ash doesn;t have an imagination either – or a near perfect work-life-balance.
Could that mean maybe he’s become aloof and out-of-touch.
Perfect candidate for a career as a politician once he becomes the slightest bit bored in bums-on-seats yakademia
OnceWasTim. Does Ashley tweet politically? If so, I don’t think that he should. As a public servant he should remain politically neutral. Is he no longer a public servant or what? A big problem with the Health Department has long been it being the place where medical practitioners who can’t cut it out in the real world find a safe haven, a 9-5 sort of haven. It’s not exactly the place where top medical specialists, the sleep-deprived doctors who get called out at 2am, ply their trade. Like much of the health system it may also be now loaded with bureaucrats with zilch experience in or knowledge of actual health issues.
I gather that this guy got a knighthood. How many highly trained medical practitioners working lifelong out in the real world get knighthoods? Who wants one anyway, or why?
