Now these smug rich prick social media influencer wankers are ‘safe’, we have an obligation as a country to give a full throated denunciation of Iran’s treatment of protestors who are demanding the medieval theocracy not kill them for wearing headscarfs.
When you as a State have decided school girls are enemies and justify beating and shooting them, people of good conscience can’t stand idyll by.
Just as we must stand with the Palestinian people over the horror of Israel’s illegal occupation of their lands.
Just as we must stand with the Uyghurs being tortured by the Chinese regime.
Just as we must stand with Ukrainian people being murdered by the Russian Army.
We must stand with the women of Iran.
The Iranian regime have killed over 230 protestors now!
I don’t agree with economic sanctions on Iran because it is the current American economic sanction regime that is driving much damage in Iran, but I certainly think we should reach out and offer Iranian women escaping the regime asylum here in NZ.
It’s the least we can do.

Funny how Iranian women’s rights are suddenly a major issue just as Iran is supplying military aid to Russia, I mean women in Iran have only been second class citizens for 40 years right so why now?
