  1. Everyone should watch and listen to this.

There are weird things going on where new rules and classifications seem to pop up out of nowhere. Also there is interesting connections with RT who can be upset and sensitive.
It is very convoluted but revealing new dark corners for good hearted people to traverse.

  2. I was talking to a retired Brit. He commented on the shallowness of our news, too much celebrity stuff. Quite distant to real knowledge about the world, too channelled in its ownership. He listens to the BBC daily and gets The Guardian magazine I think. He has had a varied life, with responsible working history, so not just an opinion from an idle mind.

  3. Sigh isn’t there a better way?

Native to Australia, this wattle is a fast-growing shrub or small tree that was introduced in New Zealand as an ornamental and became naturalised before 1897. It has since become widespread throughout coastal areas of the North Island, and is considered a threat to biodiversity and to the conservation of dune and other ecosystems. The dense thickets it can form also increase the frequency and intensity of fires.

    • We’ve got big blokey men wanting to get stuck in to a job without any namby-pamby limits busting down bridges in Taranaki and generally not able to live in an organised society working together under reasonable laws Take them off trucks and send them out in the wild to do some wattle killing. Use their talents, they want to do their own thing so give them the job of killing wattles. and don’t bring in more insect pests.

In Taranaki they are causing trouble. They wouldn’t be much different from the old bullock drivers etc despite their fancy education and knowing how to spell and count.

  4. How to have your country white-anted by those with tunnel vision along automated tubes.
    On kiwibank –
    Keeping profits in the country
The idea that keeping profits in the country automatically creates value for New Zealanders is by no means a given.

Kiwibank’s latest reported profits were $136 million, or $25 per New Zealander. This pales in comparison to the profits reported by the big four Australian-owned banks: in total, about $6 billion, or $1200 per head of population.

Lie back and think of ??? Whatever dominant power which is kneeling over us. Do nothing for ourselves. Don’t attempt anything unless it can be 100% successful to some unreasonable, impractical target.

(I guess it is racist to note that this is not a NZ sounding name – a good Maori or Scottish name! Just an observation recalling on the type of human resource prejudice against NZs and for those from overseas.)

  5. The bitchiness of some social media with videos and faux shocked comments about behaviour that is misrepresented on the news and interferes in private lives is a disgrace and shows lack of respect for others having a private life and spontaneity of any sort. That people feel they have the right to become hypocrtical puffed-up puritans in societies which have unravelled just about every restraint and moral value puts me into despair.

  6. Some ponderings on 3rd Way political management.
I might think it is a failure, but that’s measured against our hopes and wishes from last century. As the fourmyulah sing in ‘Nature’ – I need thoughts that are new Dah de dahdah dahdedah, ‘Nature enter me. ‘ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1lU29SHA9E (I think that might be Margaret Urlich RIP)

Well I might organise for that, my new thought, get buried in a shroud, with a tree over me, nature enter me, and be pleased to go because I feel like NZs never going to sail again. Though I am told that Spirit of NZ is still taking on board young people for sea training opportunities.

  7. Truth – to paraphrase what Key is supposed to have said – ‘That may be your truth, but I have others.’

  8. When ACC was being rejigged after our great leap froward it was thought that there would be a loss of concern and willingness for people needing help. and it seems to be so.

    https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/473685/injured-woman-battles-acc-for-detox-treatment-i-m-hanging-in-there-but-it-s-hard
…”Hence why I’ve got to go to detox, to slowly wean off these pills, especially the lorazepam and diazepam, because I could end up having seizures and vomiting because I’ve been on them a long time,” she said.
“My doctor said my body’s dependent.”

The Feilding 41-year-old said before the crash on November 15, 2020 – where she T-boned another car she said didn’t have its lights on at an intersection early in the morning – she played sport, worked and lived a normal life….
One of the injuries she suffered in the crash is a damaged spinal disc, when an airbag exploded under her chin.

Initially ACC didn’t cover the claim, arguing she had existing conditions or injuries, but this was overturned by a review in February…
Gordon, her specialist, who has since retired, told her no one would operate until the amount of medication she’s taking was considerably reduced.
That requires weeks at a live-in facility where the medication reduction can be managed – Watson has found a suitable one in Auckland – although ACC isn’t yet willing to pay for it.

Watson’s advocate Kym Koloni can’t understand the decision.
“They have to accept liability for the impact of that accident from the date of that accident.
“On the date of that accident she was not on medication,” Koloni said.
“They are trying to find a reason to find a reason to deny her.”
Kym Koloni says it was particularly objectionable that ACC raised a sensitive claim from two decades ago, when it’s not relevant.

In a statement, ACC’s acting deputy chief executive for service delivery Phil Riley said the sensitive claim had no relevance to its assessment of Watson’s detox request, but Koloni said the corporation raised it in correspondence about the claim.
Riley said Watson was being asked to complete psychological and psychiatric assessments to see whether detox was the most appropriate treatment…
