Clarke Gayford wins confidential payout over NZME Radio comments
Clarke Gayford has been awarded a confidential sum after NZME Radio comments earlier this year.
On March 25 NZME Radio published statements about Gayford during the KICK Fresh Music Friday podcast and on their social pages.
Isn’t it disgraceful enough that NZME pollutes the NZ podcast landscape with Leighton Smith, Mike Hosking and anything with Heather du Plessis-Allan in it?
It’s awful that they smeared my good friend Clarke with their lies!
NZME shouldn’t be celebrated at the 2022 NZ Podcast Awards this year, the awards show that NZs number 1 political podcast, The Working Group, just found out about and which we will be singular in our pursuit of.
This year, NZs number 1 political podcast, The Working Group, will submit entries for Best News, Politics Podcast & Current Affairs, Best New Podcast, Best Current Affairs Podcast and the Rova Listeners’ Choice Award!
That our show with ZERO funding from NZ on Air can even compete against the Taxpayer funded giants is at least worth a nomination!

This has been vile,venomous mischief making on the part of those spreading proven unsubstantiated rumours against Clarke, including NZME and other sources, used as filthy gutter tactics to hit the PM.
Sounds like your describing Hoskings another vile venenous person on radio who got sued by Tamihere and made incorrect misleading comments about the elections and Maori voting.
There was a late night tory talk back zb raver who also spread the rumours about Gayford and encouraged rumormongering to his grumpy old men listeners at that time. A complaint to the BCA would have been most appropriate at that time.
Yes but the tragedy is that there will be 1ZB dickheads that won’t believe he hasn’t be charged. It will be some cover up according to them.
So you want Tova to win? Or Susie Ferguson? Perhaps the big lump of stupid Lloyd Burr? Hosking and HDPA are the only members of the feckless that dare NOT to toe the party line.
Once they are gone the feckless will have less variety or opinion than a NYT opinion.

The dirty politcs team provide a topic to the tory times herald then it is forwarded on to tory talkback Garner, Tova, Ryan Bridge (am show) Kerre, Du Plessis, and see how they go – they have been all failures. I think hosking is the NATZ economic, health and political adviser and he hasn’t been right once.
Those ZB “awards” are about as credible as Kim-Jung-un hitting a hole in one on all 18 holes. As he does! Everytime!
Why blame hoskings. I heard him say on two occasions that it was just scuttlebutt.
What I noticed was at no time did any MP of the NZ National Party say that the deliberate bullshit and lies put out by the NZME was unacceptable? No. Instead the lack of condemnation yet again by National and their MPs indicated clearly they condoned the spreading of lies throughout the mainstream NZ media.
Now if it was the spouse of a National MP who was having defametion statements that were not correct spoken throughout the media National would be demanding the media to stop doing those bullshit and lies.
And so if National were prepared to not speak out or condemn the lies then what is stopping them from continuing with THEIR styles of lies and bullshit?
National have a problem when it comes to being honest. I don’t they will ever change because spreading incorrect gossip to defame a person is something they do and perhaps are badly good at.
The pope didn’t condemn the Gayford rumours either.
Or Boris Johnson.

Gayford seems a nice enough bloke, dont mind his fishing show.
He’s not perfect and has opened himself up to being a political target from involving himself in his partners politics on occasion- to be fair it would be hard not to.
Bullshit and rumour against anyone is just that and slander is wrong so it’s good to see justice served in this case.
But the Pope said Gayford wasn’t perfect either.
