One of the most painful aspects of this pandemic has been the two different realities our community has been split into.
The vaccinated resent those not vaccinated because it limits their freedom while the unvaccinated resent being excluded from society for freedom of choice.
The race to vaccinate never asks the question ‘what are we going to do with those who refuse to take the vaccine’.
I believe that after all the arguing and constant offers of free vaccinations delivered into hard to reach locations and communities, what are we going to do with those who point blank refuse the vaccination for whatever reason.
What do we do with them?
The 5% hardcore who just won’t.
I think we have to show them a lot of love and humility.
I think we have to ensure anyone resigning for refusing the vaccination are given 4 weeks wages plus there should be no stave down period for welfare.
I think that adding economic stress at a time if great anger is a recipe for dangerous radicalization.
Read the unvaccinated’s fury and violent rhetoric while they still had jobs. Imagine that rage when you lose money.
We must find ways to always keep immunization as an option alongside infrastructure to allow for testing to also be a substitute entry point to the wider social life.
After such a divisive and angry time we need to focus on the well being of people we disagree with.
That’s true healing.

Reverse the ratio with 95% of Africans involuntarily unvaxxed.
It is the deliberate failure to vax the poor by capitalism that keeps the virus mutating.

The question is why shouldn’t the involuntary unvaxxed of the world choose socialism rather than death?
Yes, talk of socialism also brings in immediate detail like forcing the pharmaceutical companies to drop patents on COVID drugs, and produce at cost, or assist Cuba to up production…or nationalising and socialising COVID drug production, similar to when consumer factories were converted to war effort production in the anti fascist WWII period.
Neo liberal hegemony means that such measures have not even flitted across the consciousness of our glorious leaders in OECD countries. It is time they got a wake up.

Successive years of a National government and it’s capitalism has created the low wage high price economy. Hell, even Jim Bolger recognises it now. Labeen are trying to rectify this with implementation of a living wage. Unfortunately issues like fuel and housing prices are global issues although I note Luxon was quick with the soundbite yesterday that he will fix those issues.
Covid will deal with them.
There is unfortunately that all too true quote of leading a horse to water but not being able to force it to drink.
There are those in society who are, as I will call them, stupid enough to believe every conspiracy theory on the planet.
Now whilst some theories may well hold credence there are those that I think are bloody stupid and question as to why people are stupid enough to take such ‘theories’ as unquestioned ‘Gospel’.
I am a pro vaxxer but have a friend who is an anti-vaxxer. When I told her I had had both vaccines against COVID she resorted to scare tactics and told me I would be dead in 48 days times. More than 48 days since I am still above ground She told me two nurses at Whakatane Hospital had had a vaccine and were dead within 24 hours of the vaccine. And of course she mentioned about a house-keeper who passed in a driveway after cleaning a house.
I was puzzled especially with the 48 day timeline and re-read the pamphlet provided by the DOH that said any side effects would be in 48 hours(not days).
She now claims that if she was in contact with me face to face she would have an allergic reaction to me because of the chemicals from the COVID vaccine. Really I wonder where she gets that stupid idea but can only assume it’s because she believes the bullshit of others.
A few days ago she claimed the NZ Police can come onto our property and take us away to conduct experiments on us. She regularly talk about “them or they” but doesn’t elaborate on whom the “them and they” are. I think if a conspiracy theorist told her that the moon was made of green cheese and COVID could be cured by consuming huge amounts of green cheese she is inclined to believe them.
But then I am on a different tangent again. Though whilst that refuse to get vaccinated exasperate us and hold us to ransom due to their pure selfishness I doubt any effort on anyone’s part will change their thinking on the matter.
And so whilst the majority in hospital with COVID are obviously the ones unvaccinated then we have to accept the fact they are nothing short of bloody stupid idiots who are so selfish but expect the over-stretched health system to cater to their needs alone.
And quite frankly I am so over these selfish unvaccinated individuals because due to THEIR actions they are making OUR lives more difficult. In other words to the unvaccinated do not expect sympathy from me or anyone else because you chose to be either lazy or stupid.
Clearly there are stupid people on both sides of the vax-unvax divide.
Clearly the suggestion-believe-opinion, of someones stupidity does NOT therefore necessarily explain ones vaxxed status.
Do explain how your life has been made more difficult by a few unvaxxed?
Those that are closing down are not highly vaccinated as all round the World there are dumb arses like you who believe the shit feed by the low lives right wing idiots who supported the likes of Trump who will not get vaccinated . You are getting smaller and smaller as a group and once the drawbridge drops and both Auckland and those from overseas are let loose you will be even less as numbers effected by covid rise and you will not be able to escape as you will be bared from travelling .

Information is king (or queen) and that is the problem here, we are not getting enough information. Other than that, this vaccine-induced divide is not a natural divide. This didn’t have to go this way, thus I go back to the obvious, the more, we the people are divided, the weaker we get!
