3 reasons why NZ needs an insurrection

Watching the Qanon lunatics explain why they were rampaging through their Capital Building in a deadly insurrection was a voyage into madness.

These brainwashed Facebook news only zombies believe that a Satanic child sex trafficking cult stole the election from Trump and bioengineered a virus spread by 5G to bring about a shadowy one world government.

FFS.

Scientology is more credible than Qanon and ISIS has more of a philosophical construct!

Pity and a contempt for the underfunding of public education eclipsed my anger at these sadly ignorant clowns, although that’s not to say there aren’t any good reasons for insurrections against a Government, but satanic death cults stealing elections just ain’t one of them.

In New Zealand there are 3 reasons why the people should rise up against the Government and angrily demand change – climate, housing & inequality.

Climate – The manner in which young people are being left to solve the entire climate crisis on their own will become more and more radical as the meaningless nothingness of government policy gets ever more stark as extreme weather event after extreme weather event makes its presence unmissable.

Housing – Housing has been denied a vast chunk of the electorate who don’t have the political power speculators do. With scum landlords set to raise rents beyond the ability if the working poor to pay, and with a Government hell bent in providing billions for property speculators, the time is ripe for rent riots.

Inequality – This Government’s refusal to lift welfare while the rich get richer will hit a tipping point where far more radical and violent economic solutions are seen as the only way forward by those punished by poverty.

After each great pandemic throughout history, there is always huge social upheaval, pretending we are immune to those forces would be naive.

Increasingly having independent opinion in a mainstream media environment which mostly echo one another has become more important than ever, so if you value having an independent voice – please donate here.

  1. Don’t count on it. 60% of NZ have taken the blue pill and believe monetising debt and a continued erosion of their civil rights is fine. They care nothing for the rising crime wave that increasing inequality brings nor how this will indirectly affect them.

These devotees of (little) Aotearoa are force fed a constant diet of post woke, enlightened oligarchical socialistic (no not the classical socialism many here want it’s retarded younger brother) nonsense via the MSM and lap it up. There are days I believe I’m in some quasi Truman/lego movie/animal farm alternative reality.

We as a country are just too lazy to engage in revolutionary behaviour. It will happen in Europe and North America though and then we’ll be forced to take sides. Trust me over time you’ll regret it when we opt for post Western civilisation woke. Once they silence the right they’ll come after the traditional left. You watch.

    • Well, as FDR said once to some delegation or other: I know that you’re right, now go out and force me to do it.

    • I agree. I am a current Labour Party member and donar. We have a housing crisis and a poverty crisis, especially for brown kids. Will Jacinda address this or do I pull my support and go Green?

  2. Thanks for the gratuitous swipe against my religion–Scientology. Ever looked into things for yourself or are you just listening to the conspiracy theory boys or bigots? Don’t mind your style it is when your mouth shoots off and unsubstantiated vomit comes out that makes you look and sound like a bigot.

    • get frrkd . . mana kaore

you’re the bigot / vomit / mouth shoots

      although i did like

      oblivion
      edge of tomorrow
      and
      collateral
      .

    • Scientology?
Which fictional work or novel was that money collecting agency based on.
Do your home work on any cult that collects cash and uses fear.
Fairies at the bottom of the garden are bound to disappoint.

Keep the standard of thought up on TDB.

      I do appreciate your sarcasm.

  3. New year, same old critiques and heartburn. I would like to see all TBD contributors and commenters perform this simple New Years Resolution–make one suggestion for action, however personal, local or wide you like, for every description of how bad things are, and yes things are very bad.

Climate: reinstate Climate Strikes at schools and workplaces (without too many fucking traffic jams perhaps), direct action is needed here.

Housing: Occupations of empty houses, and community campaigns for an immediate rent freeze, so wage or benefit increases do not get vacuumed up by landlords. Press Kainga Ora to build more state houses and apartments NOW. Rent strikes tend to hang individual people out to dry as gaining critical numbers is difficult, but hey, that could change. Direct action needed here.

Inequality: Join a union if you are in paid work, support local community campaigns, NGOs and NZCTU need to unite and push to the point of stoppage action for benefit increases and extended right to strike for all workers. Direct action needed to retire WINZ/MSD and institute a guaranteed income for all.

Note: New Zealanders are still capable of direct action even in the 21st century. Most of us respected Level 4 lockdown, and many mobbed fast food outlets when allowed, ie they knew what to do and when to do it. Harness that demonstrated ability for other stuff. It will take some radicalised working class leadership of many stripes, of course.

  4. NZers demanding changes wrt to climate change is super dumb. Even if we all collectively committed Seppuku, i.e. literal zero CO2, it will only provide a 0.1% reduction in global emissions. Without a global initiative, NZers demanding the Government to “do something” is effectively the same as doing nothing at all. If you seriously believe that Europe, USA, China and India will “do the right thing” following NZ’s example… well I have a super shiny bridge to sell you. Every cow we don’t milk here, will simply be milked somewhere else – and probably with greater carbon footprint!

    • Our reliance on protein export is a shit business model. Other countries are waking up to the huge carbon miles associated with NZ products. Not to mention the incredibly wasteful usage of water and feed that goes into 1 kg of milk powder. International trade has a net benefit to Kiwis of approximately fuck all, and it’s not sustainable.

Take the boatbuilding industry for example. Now that wealthier Kiwis aren’t flitting about the globe, they are buying up flash boats and feeding into the local economy.

Extractive industries like farming, fishing, mining, are increasingly run by global corporations with no connection to NZ; and the supply chain cuts out Kiwis as much as possible. We have been well and truly Rogered

    • “Without a global initiative, NZers demanding the Government to “do something” is effectively the same as doing nothing at all.”

Do you support a serious global initiative to reduce CO2?
That should be simple enough for you to answer.

  5. Um I mainly read TDB to read what @countryboy says so no, no insurrection, chop wood, carry water yes, I translate as get back to manufacturing wool stuff like carpets, sanitary pads, socks, shirts etc (remember the old swandri’s anyone?) wool underlays, felt packing, wool/linen blends, wool curtains, wool lampshades, don’t get me started about hemp please.
Instead of being smug about banning single use plastic bags, ban microfibres which are choking the world’s water systems.
As for “shovel ready” what a joke! monies paid out for all and sundry with a pet plan but no one has been thinking about what happens when there’s no more made in China. Perhaps we could lead the world in ‘shrinkage’ as opposed to ‘growth’.

  6. Trouble is the NZ society is so divided, and so brain washed, only a minority get what really is the problem here. Add the fact that the property and business owning and vested interest holding people here will do all to defend their property rights, their humble or large wealth, and their influence, there will not be any real insurrection ever on these isles. Most young people are also not as idealistic as some here wish them to be, ultimately the selfish interests of individuals will prevail, as that has been fed and stamped into their brain cells so firmly, it is hard to ever change. Consumerism, selfishness, and buy and turf away mentality is everywhere, the ones who make a real effort, they are a tiny minority, when it comes to climate change, the environment and other matters.

  7. I’d say the last two are the ones we should be focusing on,…

    —————

1/ Housing – Housing has been denied a vast chunk of the electorate who don’t have the political power speculators do. With scum landlords set to raise rents beyond the ability if the working poor to pay, and with a Government hell bent in providing billions for property speculators, the time is ripe for rent riots.

2/ Inequality – This Government’s refusal to lift welfare while the rich get richer will hit a tipping point where far more radical and violent economic solutions are seen as the only way forward by those punished by poverty.

These traditional spearheads of the Left are more than valid. Whether its in regard to a current right wing leader/govt or of the woke Left. These are the main issues. And that will never change. Anyone watching David Attenborough will realize that there are VAST tracts of wild spaces yet remaining and that left alone,… the wildlife is doing just fine,… without us.

    They less than need us.

    Yet we need them.

Yet admittedly, our pernicious species is hell bent on imposing its destructive will even there. Perhaps we should be concerned with looking out for our own maladapted species and that of our perfectly adapted wild kindred brothers first . Then will we heal our planet.

For as the Bible states,… we were/are supposed to be the caretakers/ husbandry lookers after’s of the planet. We continue to sinfully fail in that God ordained role.
