This is a typical fundamentalist Christian tactic. Scaremongering so that they can be your great white saviour. And has consequences for any good name of mainstream Christianity.
And what would happen if they were to gain power in our country? You can see the plan on the ResetNZ website. He will install a president, a vice president for international relations and one as internal affairs minister. There will also be an advisory board of 21 people to rewrite the bill of rights and write a constitution for NZ. You can guarantee that all of those given power will be extreme free market people since the party is consistently naming any left wing ideas and people as being the source of evil. More power to the private enterprise corporate sector. Great.
They will remake democracy in their image and then ask for a majority vote on it in a referendum. Tough luck if you do not belong to their majority.
Then what? They will no doubt continue to use their tactic of scaremongering and being the saviour to hold onto power. This is likely to be a very scary country to live in.

This scaremongering and promising to save people is a tactic that has historically put people such as Hitler into power. Hitler engaged in a mass propaganda campaign, with public meetings using his charisma to gain trust. The propaganda was his scaremongering campaign. Against the evil communists threatening Europe, and against jewish people who were establishing a new world order under their control. Sound familiar? And he was scaremongering against gypsy people, and homosexual people. They were all apparently going to take over the world. But White Christian supremacy would save the world.

That’s why we have institutions in our country that try to give people a voice even those who are minorities. They include, parliamentary select committee processes, an independent judicial system, a human rights commission, and all sorts of advocacy groups that have a real voice in this country. And we have a culture of tolerating protests (thanks to those who were on the front line in the 80s).
I won’t even mention Trump’s scaremongering tactics.
But this scaremongering and promising to be a saviour in order to achieve power could lead us down some very dangerous rabbit holes.
Lets not go there.
It’s sad to see how religion can become a tool in the hands of tools. Christ would clear them out of the temple and other religions would also look askance.
The various ways that they manage to manipulate people often have money and conditions at the base of them. It would be better if we gave unions a little more power, and just watched that they used it wisely, to do their basic job improve conditions and pay for workers. Workers are the ones most affected by the unholy ones’ behaviour trying for money and power over people’s lives.
Cut out religious friendly taxes and both they and many so-called charities would collapse. But it would be hard, hard, for any working group to bring about and government to take up their proposal. There would be verbal attacks, possible physical ones also, dirty dealings and claims that those involved were unholy, licentious, perverts, thieves, fraudsters, and any mistakes or errors from the past would be dug up to add fuel. The leaks would give a clear picture of the level of low thought and cant that these supposed pinnacles of purity and (self-) righteousness dwell in.
I think I heard Gerry Brownlee say something positive this Thursday morning on RadioNZ about Labour’s actions and specifically disagree with Judith Collins. Or did I? Was I affected by the whiff of my stimulant floating up and scrambling my brain. That first cup of tea really bucks me up.

NZ Health system is a long way off being overwhelmed enough by corona to trigger lvl4 lockdown protocols.
Some commenters find you a bit lacking sometimes Sam. Why don’t you concentrate on thinking up great ideas for NZ to adopt to do better in the future. It would be encouraging to read instead of us dwelling on the negatives.

You don’t think so you can’t get close to knowing the answers Sam. If I thought you could I would be mistaken. Don’t come here and complain about weka, she’s twice the man you are. And has enough to do on TS and does it well, too well in my opinion. But I am just one opinion that I put in occasionally to add to the swirl and froth. Occasionally, is the way to go about contention I think. And look for the good. Weka does more for political discussion and seeking better outcomes than you, wouldn’t you agree?
