The message has to be sent for NZ to expect zero criminal behaviour by temporary residents and potential citizens, and ANY criminal behaviour is NOT ok if we want to decent society living here! in particular sexual assault, drug crimes, violent crime and fraud (including labour fraud) and money laundering!
We have enough crime and our justice system is already full in NZ already without importing in more criminals operating here and destroying other people’s lives and human rights (aka to get safety home for women without being assaulted sexually) with their crimes!
It’d be interesting to know the backstory eh @SaveNZ. It might/probably is pretty bloody stereotypical:
Family mortgages their future, begs, borrows or steals $30 or 40k to send their son to NZ to study some shitty tertiary course (all arranged between some ticket clipper offshore with contacts in the PTE or Labour Hire company ). No induction or orientation, just so long as the PTE or Hire company get their cut – then what’s become the usual kicks in. And all promoted at the time with the complicity of the NuZull gummint.
The point being a decade or so of lack of any sort of genuine oversight (lack of NZQA resource; LI resource; INZ resource or prioritisation in the right places) ends up such that examples like this will keep happening. If there had been proper oversight, etc ………. this guy would/should not have been OK’d to come here in the first place!
And even then, once here, no basic orientation as to cultural differences (such as one might find with refugees). All just as long as the PTE or the Labour Hire company (which isn’t really doing anything productive anyway), gets its fees and the corrupt ‘agents’ and ‘advocates’ get their cut.
All about the money, and all working as designed. And now, after a decade or so – all pretty normal.
It’s pretty hard to feel any sympathy for the PTE’s, Labour Hire companies, government agencies involved, et all because while the ‘good times rolled’, they were all busy shitting in their own nests for short term-gain – no matter the system set up to promote exploitation and criminality with outcomes like this.
And of course we now see ‘them’ as all the bloody same – and that comes nowhere near the reality.
A bloody fool in a hurry should have seen it all coming but apparently it was ‘best practice’.
