Why I just can’t care about Clare Curran’s coffee dates

Matthew Hooton is braying in the Herald that Jacinda is stumbling from crisis to crisis. That’s only true if you define crisis as things that piss off Mike Hosking.

I preferred Hooton when he was on the NBR behind a paywall.

In his list, Hoots adds Clare Curran’s coffee dates as one of these crisis.

I just can’t muster any outrage to care about Curran’s coffee dates. It was stupid as it cost Carol her job and it’s provided ammunition for National, but it simply pales into insignificance when you consider what else is happening and what’s been ignored by the mainstream media in favour of this shit.

The NZDF were caught out lying to our faces about war crimes.

The Human Rights Review Tribunal’s decision against the former Attorney General over the Kim Dotcom Case that cost $90 000 in damages.

Despicable underfunding in health that is seeing Middlemore Hospital full of black mould and leaking raw sewage into the walls.

These issues eclipse Clare Curran’s bloody coffee dates.

  1. Ha ha good post!…pathetic what the mainstream media is concentrating on! …particularly when there are far more important issues)

( smacks of sexism and easy women targets imo)

…so two talented women in broadcasting met to have a conversation informally …so bloody what ?!

….this INQUISITION and persecution and beat up by the pathetic boys club is why women never get into real power and hit glass ceilings

The new government should do some serious replacements in RNZ.
It is biased and not performing well as an informative and critical thinking outlet for the NZ taxpayer

Time for a new RNZ !

  2. Just trash tabloid news, makes me want to throw up.

Is this really the best news these creatons can come up with ?

  3. National just used this as yet another disersion from what real shit they behind the scenes are doing to us all.

National cannot ever give up their demented idea that they no longer run this country–they are a sorry lot for sure.

    • They still actually think they have control of the country financially and have control of MSM which is actually the key, ask Simon Joyce ?

  4. Likewise. I just don’t care whether they had a formal, informal, secret, or in full view meeting. I always wonder why people have meetings in the first place, especially as most of them seem to be meetings about setting up a meeting.
As for the real stuff you mention, especially the problems with our hospital buildings, (also school buildings) I keep wondering what Natz used that $90 billion they borrowed on? ($60B net after you take off the value of roads and buildings etc which mean nothing when you still have to pay back the $90B)
It’s a few hundred truckloads of cash and nothing to show for it.

  5. Did Matthew Hooten make a huge fuss about the Banks and Key Coffee-break? If not then why the big fuss by Hooton now? Is it because the NZ Herald is purely a reflection of being the Mouth Piece of the NZ National Party? I don’t bother reading the rabid ramblings of Mike Hoskings or Katie Hawkesby in the NZ Herald because I recall the absence of their voices of concern during the 9 years of the past National government.
There have been similar events that have happened during the past 9 years of a National government that neither Hosking nor Hawkesby commented on.
All of a sudden these two seem to have become the ‘font of all knowledge’ and all that is bad about the current government.
Hypocrisy exists within the NZ National Party and its supporters i.e the tabloid NZ Herald, Hooten, Hosking, Hawkesby et al.

  6. Yep. When Billy-boy English got caught red-handed lying about his 450 Todd Barclay texts, Hosking and Hooter both said it was a “beltway issue” and therefore of absolutely no interest to the public.

Curran forgets to record a coffee date with Carol Hirshfeld in Hansard and we have a constitutional crisis that may bring the country to its knees?!!

Fuck off with your journalistic dogshit the both of you!

By the way, doesn’t Hoots have a spot as a paid political commentator at RNZ? A case of guarding one’s patch in the face of possible changes to a less favourable board perhaps?

  7. The Hapless Herald

It may have once been a Paper of standing. It is now just limping along supporting the the National Party, who have shamelessly garnered the the wealth in Aotearoa.

They do not own it through hard work. For they and the Herald did nothing of value in the recent past 9 years.

It is sad seeing the Journalist staff – and the low calibre columnists – just trotting out the same formulaic shit and throwing it at the millions of New Zealanders who have integrity, purpose and ultimately Dignity.

As for RNZ- what an utter shallow time waster. Again, its there on high pay and conditions to humiliate New Zealanders and lick the Arse of Wealthy layabouts. Female and Male alike.

We are witnessing the corruption of the NZ Elite. Stench and Stink and Low Life. Their motto: ” Down with Millions of New Zealanders who are not wealthy. Mow them Down ” Courtesy of The Herald.
