  1. Are the left failing to see the problem with Labour’s transport plan?

Labour leader Jacinda Ardern unveiled the plan to a cheering crowd of party faithful.

However, the package includes a regional fuel tax, which is an indirect flat tax (a kin to GST) as opposed to progressive income tax.

Therefore, the flow on effect of this indirect flat tax (as like GST) will impact lower income households the hardest.

At a time when inequality is said to be a top concern, why would the left cheer for that (impacting lower income households the hardest)?

And to top it off, Labour and Jacinda both went up in the polls, with the extra support largely coming from the left again at the expense of the Greens.

Is the left losing sight of what it stands for?

  2. Sky TV today had a article on ocean plastic pollution, and apparently NASA have found that there is a 2 million square Kilometers area the size of Mexico off the coast of South America in the South pacific full of plastic.

some of the plastic were found to be from fishing bins used that they said were made in New Zealand!!!!!

Clean green are we in NZ??

NO NO NO, this is also an area where ocean junk collects as of ocean current that sends a vortex sucking in plastic from all over the Pacific including New Zealand!!!!!

They said they are finding the fish are eating the plastic as well, so if you eat fish think of plastic now.

  3. Is the US one Reichstag away from totalitarianism?

Swap Dutch immigrant, for Arab immigrant. Swap the Reichstag, for the Capitol.

The Reichstag fire (German: Reichstagsbrand,  listen (help·info)) was an arson attack on the Reichstag building (home of the German parliament) in Berlin on 27 February 1933, just one month after Adolf Hitler had been sworn in as Chancellor of Germany. The Nazis stated that Marinus van der Lubbe, a young Dutch council communist, had been caught at the scene of the fire, and he was arrested for the crime. Van der Lubbe was an unemployed bricklayer who had recently arrived in Germany. The Nazis stated that van der Lubbe had declared that he had started the fire. Van der Lubbe was tried and sentenced to death. The fire was used as evidence by the Nazi Party that communists were plotting against the German government. The event is seen as pivotal in the establishment of Nazi Germany.
