Labour won’t do anything meaningful on Cannabis reform – what a way to respect Helen Kelly

48 hours on from the Joint State of the Nation and those hoping for meaningful cannabis reform won’t be getting any joint at all from Labour.

Labour have promised to do sweet fuck all about cannabis reform and continue to treat us like children. Labour’s ‘solution’ will let the huge pharmaceutical corporations step in and sell their bullshit synthetic crap, which is almost worse than the current prohibition model.

It’s so gutless and weak and all we are told is to ‘trust Labour in power’ as if that is some type of meaningful promise.

Labour and National continue treating us like children.

Helen Kelly must be disgusted.

  1. Good old Labour doing it again……fudging it. Are they capable of anything else?
Is softly, softly going to win an election, or is he trying to appease NZF?

  2. Labour is a BAU (business as usual) party.

Don’t look to Labour for change, just more of the same.

  3. For me it’s a simple test. Is the drug in question, taking in consideration the intensity of it’s effects, gram for gram, more harmful than alcohol? If not then it should be legalised. So if smoking one joint is the equivalent of say having two standard drinks, but less harmful, then cannabis should be legalised.

  4. I wouldn’t be too dispirited by Labour’s decision to run Greg O’Conner in Ohariu. It’s a conservative electorate, which is why Dunney has been so hard to flush out of it, and when O’Conner recently visited a legal cannabis dispensary in Denver, Colorado, his comments indicate he is open to the idea that law change will come:

  5. Labour are dead they just won’t lie down.
You didn’t really expect them to nail themselves to this particular cause did you, oh dear they couldn’t possibly!
