E tū members have walked off the job at McKechnie Aluminium Solutions in New Plymouth, in protest over a low-ball pay offer.
E tū organiser, Ross Henderson says 147 members have taken strike action for 24 hours after the expiry of their collective agreement.
He says members met with McKechnie to discuss a new pay deal, and members decided to strike after the company failed to match the pay rise agreed in the Metals settlement.
“That’s the bar set by members,” says Ross.
