  1. Watched Parliament yesterday (Tues 16 Feb) and noticed Labour came across as being much sharper than usual, particularly with the questions and quick responses to unsatisfactory NatzKEY replies, as well as pulling up the Speaker many times re his rulings.

On a few occasions, Labour managed to extract some really mangled responses from govt MPs, discrediting their (NatzKEY) performances, bringing into doubt cabinet ministers’ capabilities!

Might have been wishful thinking on my part, but Labour did seem to be much more fresh and on the ball than it had been in a long, long time. It started to look like a credible opposition, preparing to become government soon! Dare I hope this is the case?

Also the dreadful Collins woman’s replies to questions from both Labour and NZ First were quite flippant, lackadaisical and limp! In fact apart from being arrogant and rude, she came across as being quite bored! Almost as though she is marking time waiting in the wings for a more powerful and prominent position to come her way (PM?).

Then there was FJK slouching in his seat with his usual smart arse, slimy smirk on his face! Hardly the body language becoming of a statesman, let alone PM!

Makes me wonder now if the NatzKEY mob of miscreants have become just a little bit too confident and cocky for their own good. That’s the impression I got during yesterday’s Q & A session.

    Anyone else notice these things?

    • Well said Mary

I didn’t see it gut thanks for the feedback especially about Collins.

She is a danger to us every bit as corrosive as keyster is.

Natz are now all permeated with that same corrosive hate for others views whomever and this is destroying our parliament as we speak.

Hope that Labour picks up their game as Annette King Deputy Labour leader has definitely done.

Annette would make a good replacement should Andrew step aside and let her take the reins as she is a seasoned Politician as Winston is and capable of taking on Collins no problem.

  2. Lobbying for special tax treatment produced a spectacular return for Whirlpool Corp., courtesy of Congress and those who pay the bills, the American taxpayers.

By investing just $1.8 million over two years in payments for Washington lobbyists, Whirlpool secured the renewal of lucrative energy tax credits for making high-efficiency appliances that it estimates will be worth a combined $120 million for 2012 and 2013. Such breaks have helped the company keep its total tax expenses below zero in recent years.

The return on that lobbying investment: about 6,700 percent.

These are the sort of returns that have attracted growing swarms of corporate tax lobbyists to the Capitol over the last decade — the sorts of payoffs typically reserved for gamblers and gold miners. Even as Congress says it is digging for every penny of savings, lobbyists are anything but sequestered; they are ratcheting up their efforts to protect and even increase their clients’ tax breaks.

‘US Marshals make arrests over non-payment of student loans’

    https://www.rt.com/usa/332657-marshals-arrest-student-loans/

….”Student loans have become a hot-button issue in the Democratic presidential primaries. Both Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton have railed against what they call excessive student debt, vowing to lower student loan interest rates. However, Sanders goes a step further by supporting tuition-free public universities that are fully paid for with a tax on Wall Street.

Almost 71 percent of bachelor’s degree recipients graduate with a student loan, and those graduating in 2015 have an average debt from school of over $35,000, according to The Wall Street Journal.”

Some freedom of speech would be nice….
