  1. Hope springs eternal though INMHO we are only a slightly better Country than we were in 1981.That same divide still splits this Country (just look at last Friday to see some examples!). The margin has not moved much at all.
As for the disaster that is Palestine I fear there will be no improvements there whilst the USA and Israel remain joined at the hips.

  2. Hey, thanks enormously John! I was well under 10 years old in 1981. I grew up with some kind of “knowing” that it was a big deal. I’ve since spent a weekend educating myself on SA history. Someone on this blog mentioned the reality doc “Patu!” Which I’ve just finished watching. Wow!! Hey, many thanks to our kiwis who went before us, hearty as f**k! I’m aware of Israel issues. How can we, do, for that? Do we have a number of Palestinians and Israelites as immigrants in NZ now? (Genuine question)

  3. Just how did South Africans, white, black and brown benefit from all this ‘International Solidarity’? The place is now an economic basket case and everyone has lost out except of course the ANC elite, who have enriched themselves.

This is why we should avoid your prescription for Palestine. Both the Palestine Authority and Hamas are thug regimes that torture and murder their opponents and refuse to hold elections. As well as Israeli Jews, the one and a half million Arab Israeli citizens don’t need these people ruling and so ruining their lives.

    1. Yeah it’s a tough one alright. It takes many generations for the human species to evolve, as an entire species. Just have to start though, and keep plugging away. The alternative is we all kill ourselves, or eachother. Extinction. Sharing the knowledge, ideas, truth, empathy etc rather than doing nothing, is a start. What doesn’t get done in our lifetime, can only hope others pick up and progress on in the future
