Wait, wait, wait.

After the NZ Political Right berated us for our Summer holidays…

Simon Bridges questions NZ’s long summer break: ‘Are we still in holiday mode until March?’

The head of the Auckland Business Chamber says there are “solid reasons” for a shorter summer holiday period, but changing it would be hard.

Simon Bridges said people feel “entitled” to a long summer; however, he questioned whether the world has changed.

His comments came after a recent column in The Post suggested New Zealand’s summer break was too long.

In his column, Toss Grumley argued that the New Zealand summer break is too extreme.

…a point Luxon agreed with

Prime Minister Christopher Luxon, asked about the issue on Newstalk ZB, declined to say whether the long Kiwi summer should change, but said in the US, where he spent 16 years, workers “maybe get two weeks’ annual leave”, Christmas is “a couple of days off”, and people generally return to work on January 3 or 4. He expects to do the same this year.

…after they berated us about having a Summer holiday, turns out the boss is still kicking it at home…

Christopher Luxon working from home as year gets underway

Luxon has not released any statements on Venezuela, with foreign affairs minister Winston Peters leading the government’s communications instead.

Luxon’s only social media posts this year have been to wish the country a happy new year, and a video from December’s press conference announcing free trade negotiations with India had concluded.

Asked by RNZ whether Luxon was back at work, what he was doing, and where he was working from, a spokesperson said Luxon was in Auckland working from home, planning for the year ahead.

…just another example of one rule for them and one rule for us.

This is who you elected NZ.

  1. Wages and salaries haven’t kept pace with productivity increases for decades.

As some right wing cunt once said, “show us the money!”

    • Aye Derek. Remember the puff piece on the Luxons around the time of the 2023 election?Mrs L was asked what her husband’s weakness was. Her response, “his fibs”.

  2. We have a foreign ministry to deal with affairs that take place in other countries so surely it is down to Peters to deal with initial feed back . This PM. knows he has a good team and he does not need to be their voice His approach is one that all successful CEOs follow when running a business effectively.

      • Trevori is trying to say the PM’s “approach” is hands off and he’s fucking good at it! He’s actually excellent at it but fucking useless at running a country effectively as record numbers leaving is all the evidence we need. In Australia 91 octane is $1.48 and electricity cheap. Luxon keeps both high because he is in the consortium’s pockets.

        • Nothing to do with low fuel prices and a booming tourism sector all his work eh trev the records show he ran the airline as he does now as PM all hui no do ee

        • Once again Trevor, you keep making these claims about Luxon being amazing at Air NZ.

So once again, where is your evidence?

Or are you such a deluded parrot that you don’t know how to do so?

Running a state backed monopoly is NOT the same as being a Biz Bro.

Adults know these things, so what’s your excuse? It’s either idiocy or a brain injury, or just perhaps licking too much lead paint at a young age.

        • Good times for everyone, he happened to be lucky.
Imagine a disaster in any of those years. He’d have been struck dumb and wouldn’t have had a clue how to speak to us as a nation, maybe in mourning.
He’d have been more concerned with dead people getting more headlines than him.

    • Trevor ,if he is so fucken good why is he not head honcho at unilever ?.Perhaps its because they found out he is a fraud just like he was at AIR NZ .The board there were glad to see the back of him no doubt .

  3. All of the people I know who work are back at work right now .How ever some business owners and clearly MPs are not .They are the ones driving around in big utes with a large boat or jet skis behind .

  4. How can some people be so damned stupid? Talk about head in sand. Luxon does as he pleases when it suits him. He has not been successful in anything, and what’s more he doesn’t have a “good team”. His so called team is corrupt, inept, lacks insight and basic intellect. It’s a mishmash of wannabe’s. So wake up while we still have a country that we own!

  5. When you are considering what date to choose for the general election you have to have peace and quiet good food and drink.

  6. Luxon is a very much Often Missing In Action Part-Time prime minister.

He has been noticeably very quiet in regards to the US attack on Venezuela and he has been conspicuous by his silence in regards to the Hacking of the Manage My Health Data Breach.

Again Luxon has proven to be the Prime Weakling of NZ.

Thankgoodness it’s election year because I am so over his Laziness even to appear on Q&A. He is probably running scared because he knows he is on the way out of being a Troughing Self-Serving, Entitled, Lying, Photo Opportunity Seeking Has Been.

  7. You would hope that Luxon knows that Christmas in the US falls in winter. And you would also hope that he knows that the US summer break tends to be longer than in NZ. Or does he know that he can pretty much say anything when on ZB?
