Let me get this completely straight. Less than 48 hours after voting for it, Winston says he will now repeal the Regulatory Standards Bill and less than a week after the signed it, National now say they will repeal not too?
WHERE THE HELL WAS THEIR CONSCIENCE WHEN THEY VOTED FOR IT???
This is what NZFirst MP Casey Costello said on the 3rd reading of the bill, and I quote:
We support this bill because on the fundamentals, it promotes an open and accountable Government that legislates with key principles in mind: the rule of law, efficiency and regulation, property rights, an independent judiciary, and the belief that every New Zealander is equal before the law. So, therefore, we have no hesitation in commending this bill to the House.

48 hours later, Winston is hesitating and has announced that he will repeal the very law he just passed!
Is Winston having a senior moment?
Has he put his house keys in the fridge?
Does he recognise Shane Jones?
Blink twice for yes Winston.
When the Bill was being passed, NZFirst had no hesitation, 2 days of being ripped to pieces by his own supporters on social media for capitulating to corporations and allowing them to vet all NZ legislation, suddenly Winston has a change of mind and National are now signing the same tune!
Why did we waste millions of dollars pushing through controversial legislation that takes a narrow libertarian view of property rights and puts them above human rights if NZFirst and National didn’t actually believe in it in the first place?
I’d call this schizophrenic and bi-polar, but that isn’t fair to people with Schizophrenia and bi-polar!
Saying ‘we were just following orders’ isn’t good enough, if they all disagreed with the power distortion this would create inside our political process, why the hell did they waste all our time by voting for it?
This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever witnessed in 30 years of covering politics in NZ, two of the main parties who voted in controversial legislation both turning on it in less than week of being passed!

In regards to the passing of the Regulatory Standards Bill I get the impression the Entire CoC are of the cavalier attitude that NZ Taxpayers money is Easy Come/Easy Go especially on Vanity Projects.
Lets call the RSB a Vanity Project that cost the NZ Taxpayers over $16million. That amount of Wasteful Spending could have gone towards providing better quality School Lunches. Instead it went into some deep dark bottomless hole at the approval of the Incompetent Minister of Finance.
Maybe all three Coalition Partners were/are on a Power Trip and they had to Show to Those who objected to the RSB that they(National, ACT and NZ First) don’t Need to LISTEN TO NZers concerns. They had All made their decision and That Was That.
We all know these sorts of politicians Ignore NZers outside of Election time. But closer to the next election they will be courting those Voters they demeaned and denigrated. On their Heads be It.
Out of all this I don’t think much in regards to Luxon. He is looking More WEAK, Incompetent and Useless. He just isn’t Doing Anything for NZ and NZers but for What He can get out of things for HIMSELF and his Pavlova Cringe-worthy Shoulder Grabbing Photo Opportunities often at NZ taxpayers expense.

This is a government that has cut funding for school lunches, implemented harsh benefit measures for teenagers at a time when jobs are scarce, stopped Kainga Ora building social housing, got rid of thousands of state service jobs, cut research funding, destroyed polytechnics, kicked Māori in the guts, forced a curriculum on our schools without proper input and consultation, underfunded food banks, forced people of ACC, increased prison numbers, overseen thousands leaving for Australia. And now we have them backtracking on a bill they all voted for and how much did this cost our country.

They lied by omission because Luxon didn’t tell us what they were negotiating while the negotiations were going on. He was very coy and it certainly wasn’t part of his manifesto prior to the election.
This should have been made known during negotiations.

This is the time they spend lying more often than they do during the rest of the year, attempting to airbrush over their litany of failures, and desperately trying to persuade the peasantry that they’re all lovely people “deep down” and “genuinely” want what’s best for New Zealand.
Meanwhile, the health system continues to teeter on the brink of collapse, striking has become the most popular pastime for doctors, nurses, teachers, firefighters and anyone else being routinely shafted, and Australia hoovers up anyone not prepared to stay and get punched in the mouth, ignored or laughed at.
Most of the time, the Coalition don’t know what they’re doing, and when they do know what they’re doing, it’s usually something brazenly malicious or deceitful, which they’ll claim is being done in the interests of “clarity” or “stability” or “cost savings”.
