…secondly, the Palestinians were a broken and decimated force who had no choice but to accept a ‘peace’ deal that wasn’t actually anything more than a move from the IDF butchering Palestinians quickly to one that butchers them slowly.
The Ukrainians are not the Palestinians, they are still fighting and have enormous European support (because Europe sees stopping Putin a s national threat where as allowing genocide to be perpetrated by Israel is a tad more complex with the Europeans helping Hitler the way they did).
What Trump has offered up is a surrender deal for the Ukrainians that will make Putin sing and dance…

The US army secretary, Dan Driscoll, briefed ambassadors from Nato nations at a meeting in Kyiv late on Friday, after talks with Zelenskyy and taking a phone call from the White House. “No deal is perfect, but it must be done sooner rather than later,” he told them, according to one person who was present.
The mood in the room was sombre, with several European ambassadors questioning the content of the deal and the way in which the US had conducted the negotiations with Russia without keeping allies informed.
“It was a nightmare meeting. It was the ‘you have no cards’ argument again,” said the source, referring to Trump’s claim that Zelenskyy had no cards to play, during a contentious White House meeting back in February.

We, the West, are the one’s profiting from Ukraine’s misery. We turned Ukraine into our proxy army used to fight/weaken Russia. This is why the never ending peace plans that Trump picks out of his ass comes from him, and not from Zelenskyy! Furthermore, there is no logic, but an absolute avalanche of fearmongering around Putin being a threat to Europe, given that Russia has supposedly made frig all inroads into Ukraine despite nearly four years of conflict. How they frig are they supposed to be a threat to Europe based on this fact alone! Oh, and Russia will not support this peace plan despite all the bluster surrounding it. No input from Zelenskyy coupled with no input from Russia equals a Trumpian circus that has easily taken attention away from Palestine, Epstein, ICE, and the fact that Trump offers friggin nothing to his people except for bad breathe and clown shows.

Totally agree Stephen – The US attempt to inflict a “Vietnam” on Russia was never going to succeed and has simply ended up with Ukraine, recently voted Europe’s most corrupt state, largely destroyed (colonized) and its resources, like Syria’s oil, subject to seizure by US interests. With absolutely no real discussion on the origins of this CIA-orchestrated tragedy, the Western media has been contemptuous of the Russian Federation’s attempts to join the European club of nations, instead presenting it as indistinguishable from the former USSR. In the circumstances the Trump deal (or a relatively minor variation of it) is about as good as Ukraine can realistically get. It is similar to the Finland deal of 1940 with Finland having to surrender border lands. But Finland is now irrevocably part of the west.
Yes, Ukraine loses Donbass, but they have mostly lost that already. Yes, Russia gets to keep what they occupy, but what is the alternative? Keep fighting to get it all back. Completely unrealistic.
Ukraine becomes a member of the EU and it gets a pretty solid security guarantee. Ukraine becomes a western/central European nation, permanently beyond Russian influence.
Yup agreed but having to limit their army is a risk I think – it could always be ‘mitigated’ by establishing “1930’s esque” paramilitary societies etc that ensure there are military ready reserves in the event of a future war (Germany training thousands of glider pilots before WW2 etc for quick transfer into Luftwaffe etc).
The problem for Ukraine is that they are going to be influenced, one way or the other. It is a travesty that they have never been allowed to plot their own course. And of course, the problem for Russia is Ukraine being used as a NATO launch pad, right on Russia’s border. Thus – a solid security guarantee – is the name of the game for both sides.

British journalist and commentator Sami Hamdi who was on a speakinhg tour of the US and Canada had his visa revoked in the middle of his tour and was detained by ICE for 18 days, until public pressure was able to force his release and his return to the UK.

American judges said he can’t be deported because there’s a genuine risk he’ll be sent to Ukraine. But he’s still stuck in the ICE facility, still unable to leave…..
Denny Shamayov’s case is not unusual, Sami Hamdi relates several other similar cases, where if ICE detainees were able to put their case before a judge, they would win. But the ICE strategy is to hold them in detention indefinitely until they agree to plead guilty to some trumped up charge, so they can be deported without getting a hearing in court.
The 28 point plan will fall flat on its face. This is inevitable, as the only person who wants the war to end is Trump, he really wants that Vickers machine gun Nobel Peace prize, but the Europeans, the corrupt Banderite Kiev regime, and yes, the hardline Russians want to keep fighting.
