63 more people killed and 227 wounded
Since dawn, Israeli air strikes, missile-launches and gunfire on homes, as well as medical and other facilities, have resulted in 63 dead and 227 wounded. The total number now killed in Gaza, since 7 October 2023, has risen to at least 66,288 and that of the wounded is at least 169,165. The daily average number of men, women and children killed in Gaza is at least 91 and, of those injured, that is more than 233. A UN report states that, as of 14 January 2025, around 70% of those killed in Gaza were women and children.
NZ Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, ignores Israeli terrorism
Referring to Palestine, NZ Prime Minister, Christopher Luxon, sided with Israel when he said that, on the one hand, “New Zealand could not recognise a state where terrorists played a role in government“, while having no difficulty in supporting Israel, whose Prime Minister is wanted by the International Criminal Court for committing acts of what the Court describes as “. . . starvation as a method of warfare; and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts.” The ICC, recognised by 124 UN member nations, including New Zealand, has issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu and it might be worth asking Luxon whether he would arrest or welcome the Israeli Prime Minister, should he arrive in New Zealand. https://share.google/
West Bank
Since 24:00 on 7 October 2023, Israeli Occupation forces have been imposing a complete closure on the West Bank, preventing residents and other permit-holders from entering or leaving. The Israeli military also imposes severe and highly variable travel restrictions on all residents.
Israeli Army attack – 1 wounded: Jerusalem – 12:00, an armed settler, in the Al-Hawa neighbourhood, opened fire towards and wounded one person, Muhammad Abd al-Ghaffar al-Jubeh, who was also hospitalised.
Israeli Army attack – 1 killed – 1 wounded: Ramallah – 19:00, Israeli Occupation forces, stationed at the checkpoint near the entrance to the village of Beit Ur al-Fuqa, opened fire on a vehicle carrying two occupants, killing one of them, Muhammad Ali Yusef Shtayyeh, and seizing his corpse. The other occupant, Nader Muhammad Mahmoud Sawalhi, was wounded.

Occupation settler terrorism: Nablus – 12:45-13:40, an Israeli, from the Yitzhar Occupation settlement, raided the village of ‘Urif, terrorising residents and roaming between their homes.
Occupation settler stun grenades fired – Israeli Army complicity: Nablus – 13:10, Israeli settlers, firing stun grenades, stormed the industrial zone between Huwara and Jama’in and were later supported by Israeli troops joining in to suppress people trying to resist the settlers.
Occupation settler assault, vandalism and water crime: Nablus – 24:00, Occupation settlers invaded the Shakara and Al-Shajara areas of the village of Duma, assaulting Bedouin community residents and damaging property. The settlers emptied water storage tanks, smashed surveillance-cameras and stoned people’s homes.
