The bullshit used to support congestion charges are that when they are adopted it sees a decrease in emissions and traffic, but in every single city they have tried this in they have high density public transport, in Auckland we have shit public transport!
Congestion charges will only cause more poverty and misery because there isn’t any fucking public transport infrastructure.
When Aucklanders get blindsided by this, they will scream for blood and demand to know who did it, so your starting hatred should go to the Boomer King, then National, then ACT, then NZF, then Labour and then the Greens.
The Māori Party were the ONLY ONES who refused to vote for this.

The economic pain we are going through has been induced by National’s slash and burn campaign last year. That bitter harvest of losing 18000 jobs in the construction industry, 30 000 jobs over all and 70 000 fleeing to Australia IS DIRECTLY BECAUSE OF NATIONAL PARTY ECONOMIC POLICY!

Infrastructure projects underpin much of the Government’s urban recovery strategy. Luxon pointed to wharf upgrades and the City Rail Link as projects which would drive growth in Auckland.

Upgrading the wharf so the bloated swine palaces have easy access is not a fucking solution. Dumping a whole host of rich Cruise Ship tourists into a downtown that looks like Gaza in a good day, strewn with the homeless is going to benefit some of the lucre shops at the bottom of Queens street.
The Fucking City Rail Loop won’t be finished until 2027 and ripping up train crossings to the tune of $800m and pretending that will create road efficiencies is fucking ludicrous.
You want road efficiencies?
Cut the price of public transport in half and watch all the Aucklanders get out of their cars and take huge numbers of vehicles off the road.
Auckland unemployment is 6.2% and 11.5% for Māori, the Housing Market has crashed crushing the middle classes and the never ending fiasco of pitiful infrastructure upgrades using the cheapest means possible has gridlocked Auckland so much so that even the homeless are stuck in congestion.
Nothing this Government is doing is helping anything other than their donor mates.
National are a rural cult, they hate the cities and the cities are suffering.
Why should central Government invest more money directly? Because the Government are the ones who have driven the mass immigration that has totally swamped Auckland’s capacity to pay for!

Brown was on Q and A this morning and struggled to string more than two words together .But hobbits are always going to vote for other hobbits so they will vote for another 3 years of stupidity .
We have lived in the Shitty of Fails for over 62 years.
We have seen changes in this Shit-hole of a city. Some good but most have been bad. Since it became a Super Shitty It has changed and Not for the Good of Its residents.
I have already voted and It’s not for Drongo Wayne Brown. He made all these ‘promises’ in the lead up to the last local body election. He may as well play Tennis Whilst Auckland Floods.
Auckland has the biggest Polynesian Population on the planet. And I have said this time and again that got the biggest city in NZ with the Biggest Polynesian population we should also have a Mayor who is a Reflection of our Population.
To me, and yes I am Pakeha and a Palagi, we Need to move with the times. We cannot vote for White Mayors who just Do Not Relate to the Mixture of Population we Have. That is as Bad as Nzers voting for Luxon who would never be seen in public with NZers of a different Skin Colour than Himself.
There is an election on and not one candidate has put a flier in our mail box saying they are opposed to road privatisation and mass surveillance.
The cityvision website doesn’t mention this issue so most likely they support anti worker congestion charges.
Same where I live .Have only met one candidate and only because I challenged the smoke and mirror being used by shifting debt to new water entity and then pretending they had reduced our debt when in fact we will now be getting a separate water bill we never had before .So now we get council rates ,water co bill ,district council rates and power bill .
He was the same one that praised himself because he cut all social spending by council and was a bit pissed that I reminded him he was elected by the people to work for all of the community .The same prick does not think renters should be able to vote even though they are paying the rates in the rent they pay each week .
The first super city Mayor Brown (Len) was elected by South Auckland, but the South is well alienated now and will not be coming to the rescue.
I do feel for the Aucklanders about to face further shitstorms, but really people, you do need to take some responsibility and bloody vote!
Current engagement in the local body election sits at around 10%, so Aucklanders are obviously too stressed, busy, or apathetic to be bothered, which means Brown is probably a dead-cert for Mayor once more, and everyone who didn’t vote will piss and moan about him once his bum is firmly ensconced in the mayoral chair. (Warkworth sits at 9%, Manurewa sits at 1.3% — come on South Auckland, sort yourselves out. And I say that as a resident of South Auckland.) The affluent white folk from the leafy suburbs will vote in droves, and everyone else will be like, “Yeah, nah… busy and shit, mate.” And this is why we can’t have nice things. You have a voice. Drag your arse off the couch and use it.
Remember kids, if you didn’t vote because you couldn’t be arsed, pour yourself a nice long glass of shut the fuck up. You had your chance and you flubbed it. VOTE!
I’m voting not because I like any of the candidates, they are all crap, but because not being bothered will leave gap open for crazies appearing now to vote religiously for their rep. People who can’t be bothered may be surprised to find a guy voted in charge who thinks wearing potato sacks, tin foil hats, banning political opponents who are evil space lizards and drinking bleach is good for Auckland.
It appears Browny only plans to do half his term if elected and hand over to Deputy Desley. He has backtracked on that today but why say it?
