How Ryan, Mike, Heather, ZB, NZ Herald and Right Wing hate trolls will respond to their Government’s economic collapse

Now that the Alphas of the NZ CEO conclave have ripped Luxon and Willis to shreds, how will Ryan, Mike, Heather, ZB, NZ Herald and Right Wing hate trolls will respond to their Government’s economic collapse?

They can’t keep pretending things are going well when their own house values are plummeting and they can’t ignore the Alphas of the NZ CEO conclave.

Rather than blame National’s feckless austerity experiment, my guess is that Ryan, Mike, Heather, ZB, NZ Herald and Right Wing hate trolls will instead turn it on their political enemies and start a vilification campaign that utterly ignores their own Right Wing Parties culpability in what has happened.

Expect an avalanche of attacks on Labour, Greens and te Parti Māori, which is why each of those Parties must minimise handing the Right culture war ammunition as we now approach Election Year.

When rich people lose money, they turn real feral, expect the polarisation and culture war abuse to ramp up, especially as Alt-Right Canadian Billionaire Jim Grenon starts making editorial changes for next years election.

  1. If the Nats want to win the next election they need to replace Luxon and Willis with Bishop and Stanford – both get things done and when they speak they actually say something rather than just delivering a meaningless corporate world salad.
The man + woman box is ticked and Stanford being attractive will also help.
No brown or alphabet boxes ticked but anyone caring about those boxes will prob be voting left anyway.
Other than that address the cost of living crisis and offer a real solution to it i.e. something concrete about the supermarket duopoly etc / offer hope and a ‘roadmap’ for turning this ship around before everyone except the beneficiaries and billionaires leave for Aussie.

      • I dunno, Bishop when he is under pressure, gets a little word salady. But your assessment is pretty accurate, except I think the damage has been done, Luxon and Willis have tainted the Nats “brand”. Hell, I personally think Stanford will jump ship to ACT just before the election anyway, guess we’ll see.

  2. I think it has always been the strategy. I don’t believe it was down to Luxon’s weakness that race baiting has been the only tangible contribution the coalition have made so far. The obvious target is TPM and pushing their anger over the edge to make them toxic to voters. In this world TPM can only be saints of virtue anything less will be across the front pages and on every news panel in the country – exactly as your article suggests.
Garner has been on TPM’s back for months. Salivating and humping like wild dog over every tiny and trivial issue to do with Maori that his team can dredge up.
There’s nothing new about it but yes I agree it will continue at pace now that discussing the economy needs to be avoided at all costs. Fairly standard right wing strategy – divide and conquer. Blind the working and middle class to their real enemy with noise and resentment.

  3. I am wondering as to how many in the NZ National Party and its MPs are now asking themselves as to how can they remove two Main Contributors towards the total Destruction of National from Within their Ranks???!!!
Luxon and Willis Have To Go if National wants to continue to be in Existence as a political party.
If there is No-one in National with a Spine to Stand up to These Two Incompetent Failures then it shows National are in Deep Deep Trouble.
Luxon Only Wants to Remain prime minister for the Pay packet and Perks of the Job. He stated rather stupidly that he was Hired to do the job(of prime minister). That statement shows in itself his Total Incompetence. He Was NOT HIRED but Voted in by NZ voters who were obviously Taken In and Fooled by his Grandiose Pre-election promises many of which he has broken since becoming a part-time prime minister. Besides being prime minister is a Photo Opportunity for Ego Ridden Luxon.
Willis has Delivered but in a Bad Way eg higher unemployment, NZers leaving this country in droves, higher prices at the supermarket and an Increased Cost of Living Crisis.
And so if Luxon and Willis are not removed then ALL National MPs will realise that the NZ Voters will be making their Vote Count next year and it will not be in favour of National, ACT and NZ First.
And so On the Heads of the NZ National Party and their MPs be it. Topple Luxon and Willis and you just might hold onto your Career Job for a little longer. Leave them(Luxon and Willis in their Incompetent Roles)and you may have to line up for the Unemployment Benefit like everyone else because you will claim despite your wealth as to being ‘unable to make ends meet’.

  4. How Ryan, Mike, Heather, ZB, NZ Herald and Right Wing hate trolls will respond to their Government’s economic collapse?

The same way they always do, the same way every other capitalist country does, the same way all conservative pundits do,

Beginning with prostrating themselves before the US war machine n the hope of getting thrown some of the economic crumbs off the US imperialist dining table. starting by praising Winston Peters for refusing to recognise Palestine as a sign of great courage and moral clarity.

  5. Haha, love how the commenters are already fighting over who gets to blame the inevitable economic fallout. World salad vs. race baiting – classic! Cant wait for the culture war fireworks when the rich folks get twitchy. And Bishop and Stanford? Oh boy, here we go again with the sassy faces saving the day. Bring on the chaos!

  6. Stanford being attractive shows how shallow you are James brown and I doubt whether she will be good enough for PM or deputy as when she doesn’t like what she hears she mutters bitch under her breath not exactly leadership material.

  7. They will be backing this sort of thing – promoting it for the better class.

<i<Nourish and Bloom is Winter’s expansion from cookbook author into the growing $11 trillion global wellness industry. It’s where followers look for meaning and guidance in sound and energy healing, alchemy (a mystic form of something close to chemistry), breath work, and a host of other alternative and fringe practices that often have little to no scientific evidence that they work.
Wellness culture is a subject that RNZ’s podcast “The Lodge” examined earlier this year through the cult of Chinese-born guru Aiping Wang, who established a base in New Zealand’s South Island.

  8. Does Mike Hosking think dressing like a TV test pattern, makes him sophisticated or something? As for man bun and ‘whatever Heather’, please. Dickheads to a man/woman

  9. The current COC regime and their promoters and propagandists (Hosking et al)are anti New Zealand and should be held accountable for this as their policies and rhetoric are causing 10’s of thousands of young New Zealanders- who we thought were this country’s future- to leave NZ. They want to replace the young people who were brought up and trained here, with cheap migrant labour, and accelerate the race to the bottom. Their incompetence is breathtaking, their corruption is noxious, and their economic ideology is a proven failure.

    • Well put Brian. The adherence to neoliberal acolytes such as Nicola Willis (New Zealand Initiative & Atlas) and Dave-Boy Seymour (ACT – or lack thereof) is the primary reason for this situation. It pains me to say, but things are much worse in the USA – which will also impact us here sometime soon

  10. I can only hope that the next Labour led government has the fortitude to simply roll back many of the stupid changes made by the current CoC administration. I hope they also follow the CoC’s lead by doing so under urgency (even though it isn’t urgent the freakin liars) and like wise without consultation to let them know how it feels to be steamrolled in this way. Reverse especially the changes to employment law, to pay equity legislation etc – this can easily be funded through imposing CGT for properties that are NOT the family home and a wealth tax. Maybe even consider a financial transaction tax to ‘manage’ those dodgy speculators. The sooner we move away from being an economy dependent on residential property price growth the sooner investors will be ‘encouraged’ to divert their investments to productive capital. They will also need to rebuild the public sector – again funded through CGT, FTT and WT. No doubt the neolib cheerleaders will scream like little bitches but given all the damage they are currently doing, and have doing since (Hayek published “The Road to Serfdom” in 1944) Roger Douglas and Richard Prebble started rolling out the leolib agenda in 1984 and Ruth Richardson intensified this in 1991 in NZ. Death to neoliberalism and austerity – it is all BS designed to rip of all but the wealthy elite.
