Trump’s autism claims are a whole new unhinged cruelty

Yesterday, the President of the United States, Donald Trump, claimed paracetamol causes autism

This is the same Donald Trump who suggested injecting bleach would kill Covid.

What does it say about how far off the rails American Society has come when an unhinged President starts giving quack medical advice on issues as serious to people as autism?

I have always believed that the deep suspicion of vaccines and promotion of magical crystals curing cancer type snake oil medicines connect to America’s deeply unequal private health care system that dooms most American’s into lives of debt for medicines they can’t afford.

Trump is manipulating the righteous anger of the poor who can’t afford health care to promote utter bullshit on people’s health issues that should only be given by actual drs.

Because of social media hate algorithms, these vaccine conspiracies and quack holistic cure alls spread like Covid at an unvaccinated Republic Gun Show.

The solution is free public health using the best medical advice, it is not manipulations of fear and ignorance to those too poor to see a dr.

Of all the cruel things Trump has done, telling those with autism that it’s been created by paracetamol has to be one of his most unhinged.
I’m waiting for NZFirst to make the same insane claims.

  1. A distraction from the reality that the US pharmacutical industry is totally corrupt and ripping all yanks off for anything that isn’t a generic.

  2. I haven’t seen Trumps comment and obviously you can’t trust anything he says but a healthy dose of skepticism is always good.

Remember how “believe all doctors” who in turn “believe all pharmaceutical companies” created an opioid crisis with a patented invention of synthetic heroin which was spruiked as “non-addictive”.

  3. It is strange what people can believe.
I mean, masses of people here voted National, ACT and New Zealand First in the belief they would be better for the public at large than a Labour/Green government.

  4. Dictator, Trump, thinks he is an authority on ‘everything’. He is over-confident, gobby, unhinged and corrupt. He truly should be mentally certified and locked away forever. If this is the best the USA can elect they are in very serious decline. Trump is a total embarrassment and needs to keep his ugly snout out of matters he is not qualified to discuss. So USA has the worst President ever and NZ the worst PM ever! Well done all the thicko voters who put both of them into power. But remember you reap what you sow.

  5. This would give NZFirst another target to demonise, after woksters and trans folk.
Personally, I think Luxon should push back against NZFirst, by declaring that he
wants to apply for a part in the relaunched Rocky Horror stage show,
and not as the narator like Muldoon, but a full blown Frankinfurter.
I haven’t heard his singing voice, but with some lipstick, maskara, and high heels,
he could have some entertaining dance moves…

  6. Maybe there are a few things going on here:
1.) a desire to avoid any responsibility of care by the state for people with autism in future. Because it’s now your mother’s fault for taking tylenol during pregnancy despite being warned, i.e. shrinking the state to give tax cuts
2.) pretending you are an ally of ordinary people against corrupt corporations, i.e. a symbolic pivot towards broadly left-wing positions about the dangers of corporate power, but without any substance to the critique
3.) a belittling of ‘expertise’ in all domains, so that the political leadership is the source of truth and in particular Trump as a person is the ultimate container of the truth, i.e. Trump as King or God/King. We can see how Trump wets himself with delight when meeting the UK royal family, so he has monarchist tendencies.
However, both Trump and RFK jnr appear to be too stupid to have ever worked these things out, or to have ever thought to combine them into some sort of strategy. So it’s a puzzle.

    • Or… he is trying his best to distract his voters away from subjects like Epstein and Charlie Kirk. Some of the conspiracy theories going around are pure CRAY. And unfortunately, it is his grass roots voters who are lapping it up like its royal jelly.

  7. The US president is an empty suit, a figure head..

Joe Biden’s cognitive decline exposed during the election debate with Donald Trump.

Donald Trump’s latest ludicrous speech at the UN.

US presidents could be cardboard cutouts on a stick for all the difference it would make to US foreign and domestic policy.

American imperialism is increasing its foreign aggression and domestic repression. If it wasn’t Trump, it would be some other useful idiot spouting nonsensical far right conspiracy narratives to justify America’s turn to naked imperialism abroad and open repression at home.

  8. “Trump is manipulating the righteous anger of the poor who can’t afford health care to promote utter bullshit on people’s health issues…”

Not far from the truth I suspect… if indeed there is any truth left out there. Would seem to align with AB’s #2: simply political posturing to win support of the deplorables.

  9. Never assume anything is the most unhinged or out there statement Trump could make until you compare it to what he’s going to say next week.

  10. He has to say Tylenol. Imagine this bozo attempting to say acetaminophen. It would be like reliving him announcing the demise of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

  11. He has to say Tylenol. Imagine this bozo attempting to say acetaminophen. It would be like reliving him announcing the demise of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi.

  12. It’s amazing what people eg Trump; claims

He is a twice impeached, convicted felon and fraudster and yet somehow he got to be POTUS again. It certainly gives one the impression America certainly is in Big Trouble. He does seem to be Two Sandwiches Short of a Picnic.

Back in August 2021 I had my first COVID Vaccination. I was handed a pamphlet afterwards and read it a few days later. I had told a friend who is into Conspiracy Theories about having the vaccine. She told me I would be dead in 48 DAYS TIME. The Pamphlet said any side effects from the vaccine would be within 48 HOURS. Somehow someone in her Conspiracy Theories group had mis-informed perhaps deliberately and hence the 48 Hours becoming 48 Days.

I wonder in regards to Trump as to how many gullible Americans will be taken in by his Gospel According to Trump statements?
