David Seymour’s comments are just so disrespectful and cruel.
The issue of an indigenous culture having access to their birthright is an issue that demands far more sensitivity than Seymour is giving here.
It’s the needless cruelty of it, but then again, it’s so on Brand for the cultural fascism that ACT now represents.
ACT MP Simon Court and his disgraceful language towards those protesting against Israel’s genocide is another example.
Court is pro-genocide and Seymour is simply racist, normally that would be enough for civil society to pull away in disgust, but in these polarised times thanks to social media hate algorithms, racism and pro-war crimes are celebrated, not condemned.
I think David was still reeling from Winston Peters attacking him over his pro-genocide position and like any bully, he simply lashed out at Keisha Castle-Hughes rather than give the issue the dignity it deserves.

Why are people surprised by Seymour. He is immature and classless. If he had any political integrity he would have resigns years ago when he was gifted Epsom and couldn’t gain the votes by himself. Now with his divisive and racist policies( Van Velden’s horrific cancelling of pay equity)including attempting to abolish the treaty, he has enough redneck crackers out there to keep him in parliament. Those redneck crackers are not your average Joe New Zealander but multi corporate wealthy types that don’t want state housing anywhere near Epsom and Seymour is hellbent on making sure that doesn’t happen. That alone tells you who Seymour is. His immature attempt at personally attacking others shows the hypocrisy of his “free speech” beliefs.
He could learn a thing or two on humility from Castle-Hughes but yet his ego is so huge he couldn’t learn from anyone.
Keisha’s filled nappies when she was a toddler were 1000 times more relevant than that petulant puerile prick will ever be.
This is just Seymour trying to make himself relevant as his toxic CuC falls to pieces.

That’s Seymour’s big problem. He has GOT to put his two cents worth in. He can’t bear not to be asked his opinion.
Rather than exhibit maturity and discretion, he lashes out and puts his great flat feet in it every time.

Many things would blow over quickly if he didn’t always react. He’s very confrontational.

Seymour is an attention seeker, nothing more nothing less, his dancing with the stars proves this. He says stupid immature things to try to hold relevance. I live in Australia now( for several months) and I asked a local who they thought the deputy PM of NZ was, then I asked if they new who Keisha Castle Hughes was. The answer was striking, don’t know and she was on Whale Rider, Star Wars, Red Dog and Game of thrones.

In other countries, there used to be principled libertarian parties. ACT is a crude facsimile of these, informed by gunnutjobbery and charter school gravy trains.
If Seymour were magically appointed PM his policies would screw NZ as swiftly and as badly as this strange chimaera that purports to be a government.
David Seymour seems like our Nigel Farage and both seem like a pinball that has acquired its own volition and shoots around hitting targets that pass for important for a few milliseconds. But a lot of damage can happen quickly, that is why guns are so popular in the USA and NZ.
Heaven save us! We can’t think, use our brains as our parents have taught us that money can buy you love and everything else. When it comes to working (and singing together) I enjoy Placido Domingo and John Denver, they have modulated their voices and styles a little, and blend; let’s find people we can work alongside and sing with from the same song book. Not lone rangers being stock exchange warriors, housing buccaneers or truthists meting out their brand of medicine to the unworthy.

Notice he says at a “different time”. He doesn’t say “got here first”, he doesn’t say “the people who are the longest continuous inhabitants of these islands”, He doesn’t say the people “whose culture and language evolved here and which exists nowhere else”.

Jacinda was correct in what she thought of David Seymour and that is he is an Arrogant Prick.
But over the years and because he suffers from the Superiority Complex he deems himself as being More Superior than Others and Should Control the World albeit little NZ.
His party ONLY got 8% of the vote in the 2023 but thanks to the Obsessed to be Addressed as prime minister Weakling Luxon he now has more power and control over NZers than he could have dreamt of. And so maybe the feeling of power has tipped him over the edge into insanity.
So if anyone votes for ACT then Good luck to them.
To me the one thing absent from Seymour visually is the lack of a Toothbrush Moustache under his nose.
