Free Speech Friday followed by Cancel Culture Monday?
The Right in NZ make an enormous song and dance about being Free Speech champions right up until you say something they don’t like (usually by being critical of Israel’s war crimes).
We see this dynamic play out in NZ politics time and time and time again.
The NZ Right are not Free Speech Champions, they are Free Speech hypocrites who have weaponised Free Speech as a means to police anything they don’t like.

This is a disturbing bias against those who can’t afford to stay home to teach their kids.

Just look at how Kirk attacked the patriotic American veterans who served on board the USS Liberty, attacked without warning by ‘israeli’ terrorists in an attempt to draw the US into an active war on their behalf on 8 June 1967. The zionist traitor Kirk called those REAL American patriots ‘conspiracy theorists’, all because they disagreed with the lies of his masters!

But seriously I’m a bit divided over this. I didn’t know anything about this Charles Kirk fellow until some of the young guys were telling me about him being shot while we were at work. They were angry and resentful about it.
I still don’t know much about him or his works but it seems that if one side of the divide can be, well, not too unhappy about the untimely, violent demise of certain folk don’t expect the other side to show much respect when it’s one on their side meetings a similar fate.
I’m sure both sides have a death come calling celebrity death wish list and that’s maybe disappointing but not unsurprising in this current environment.
But you have to be forgiving of the random fuckwits who say stupid shit at the wrong time and not judge the other side as a whole on them.
The major point to remember is that Charles Kirk was a supporter of the right to carry guns, obviously he had some other views that someone with a gun didn’t like so it seems that natural selection does still happen as a way of removing the illogical members of society.
And just to add a bit of context to “who is Charles Kirk”?
Trump wants to give a presidential medal to Charles to go alongside names like Elvis Prestley, Estee Lauder, Frank Sinatra, Gregory Peck, George w Bush, Harper Lee, Hellen Keller, Jacques Cousteau’ and John Wayne, but to name a few.
So when you say you didn’t know anything of Charles Kirk then you alongside anyone outside the MAGA movement didn’t either. He is probably not worth the chewing gum that would be stuck to the bottom of the shoes of the above named. He only made the headlines because of Americas right wing media.
Meanwhile, the news cycle rolls on.

There have been people fired for merely repeating Kirk’s actual words. Wow what a great tribute to a free speech champion! Whatever his private persona his public one was pretty much that of an arsehole. He appeared to adore the now openly fascist Trump which is completely incompatible with what Kirk is supposed to have stood for. How people can make a martyr of the man just shows the ruin the US is becoming. As for here, the fact that the little slime ball Seymour talked of a moment’s silence for Kirk reinforces ACT are a detestable mob that need booting
out.
